A Mom Blog Social Network
I just have to ask... does anyone blog/write simply because they love to write? No expectations or desire for monetary gain?

Permalink Reply by Lisa Smith on January 1, 2012 at 9:29pm I do..I write because I need to and want too, don't care about the money, yes its important but it doesn't matter to me right now. My writing/blogging helps me get a clear head and keep track of things that go on in my life and my children's lives. I love blogging. 2 of my kids love blogging too, they get their love of writing/blogging from me. I have always had a journal since back as a kid, I always needed to write down my feelings as I couldn't exactly tell my mom or anyone about them so I just wrote everything down. Love writing just to write.
Permalink Reply by Gina Baker on January 3, 2012 at 11:44pm I blog because I get to take more pictures... does that count? I have one blog that is picture only... 365 Photo. Then I also put a lot of pictures on my other blog, My Chocolate Peaces. I am just a photo nerd. :)
Permalink Reply by Jessica Eckert on January 6, 2012 at 9:54am I started my blog because I love to write. I have been a freelance writer for several years, but I wanted a way to write about topics I cared about. I do giveaways and things like that on my blog, because I think it is fun and enjoy participating. I sometimes think I would like people to actually read what I write, but my writing is really for me. If I make money off of it someday, then that would be wonderful. I do make money freelance writing, but those are not really my own topics. For now, I just blog to write about whatever I want, whenever I want.
Permalink Reply by sheena wilkins on January 7, 2012 at 11:20am I do. I do!!! This whole " follow me back, and I'll follow you." I can't stand it. And really.. if you follow over 300 blogs, your tellin me you read those blogs? BS! Read my writings, follow my blog because you want to. Not for the favor in return. Ugh. The sincerity is gone. Ok, I'm done venting =) Happy New Year!!!

Permalink Reply by Debbie on January 8, 2012 at 11:02am I do write for the sake of writing, I started my blog because I was filling to many paper journals. My blog was a lot about writing last year, (articles on mommy, family, life etc.) some how I found myself going from the mommy, crafting, cooking, review blog to a writing blog. I am glad I named it Scattered Musings of A Creative Mind, which doesn't stick me with any one niche.
Permalink Reply by Dana Dampier on January 9, 2012 at 10:13am Writing isn't about money with me. I would love to get published in the future... but I don't write for money now. I write for myself and for others whom I can inspire.
Hi, I posted before and since there has still been a lot of action on this post, I wanted to share a new blog I'm working on that coincides with exactly what this discussion is about: writing for the sake of writing. The blog is devoted to up-and-coming writers wanting to put their work out there, and we will be kicking off the blog Jan 16th with a series of works in tribute to Edgar Allen Poe. If you would like to submit, please see here for more details and message me here if you have any other questions. Thanks!!!!!

Permalink Reply by Brandy Burke on January 13, 2012 at 12:00pm I've been writing since 2006 and haven't earned a penny from it, I have gotten some free samples and stuff, but when I began blogging, it's because I was given 5 years to live and I wanted to get crap out and have something for my girls to see if I kicked the bucket.
Man has blogging changed in the last 6 years!
Now, I am a freelance writer for other websites, and that's where I make my money, for my own website, I earn nothing, and that means I can write what I want, when I want and how I want.
So yep, I write with no expectations of financial gain, but I do like gaining blogging friends and getting in on good deals from reading blogs :)

Permalink Reply by Byn Always on January 20, 2012 at 12:58pm What a sad, yet lovely reason to begin blogging (The for your daughters part, not the grim diagnosis part) I think of that often when I'm blogging... that my kids will have something of me that is always out there. Especially when we post family life type videos!
