Does anyone write for the sake of writing?

I just have to ask... does anyone blog/write simply because they love to write? No expectations or desire for monetary gain?

I do!!

haha I love writing but with 3 kids keeping an actual journal without getting things spilled/colored/torn out is impossible. I love blogging and just blogging for me, no one else.

Yes! Most of the time when I write, blog and journal, my thoughts flow unfiltered. Writing is a form of venting, relating and encouragement for me. Writing clears my mind!

Writing just for writings sake is great. If you enjoy what you do, there is nothing wrong with that. My opinion is, if you're going to write it where everyone can read it, might as well make some money from it too. Writing for writings sake is a beautiful thing. When you are not motivated to write around parameters that sell one thing or another...that kind of writing leaves you limited as to what you can write. Good for you.

I do! :) I have 2 blogs currently - the first deals with special needs & how they affect our family (paintingwithpicasso.blogspot.com) This blog is more for updating friends/family on our life - Real Life.

However, my other blog is because I love to write and I wanted a place where I *could* write about family stuff some, but not focused on special needs. I also wanted to be able to write about other things that I enjoy - things that bring me joy. buildingonjoy.blogspot.com

Neither blog is monetized currently, and I find I have more content, more often, for the first blog, so I have considered monetizing it. But I love to write and am enjoying that outlet on the second blog. :)
