OH MY GOSH, I wish I could blog THIS topic LOL...my hubby goes back & forth between being pissed off when I DON'T talk about him, to being pissed off if I do!! There's no winning! I try to keep all the "players" anonymous, but obviously there are some family & friends who know who I'm writing about...to be honest, I've trashed more than a few posts deciding it was going to upset someone or another. And yet, in doing so, & trying to keep other people out of it, I now find my blog is no longer what I set out to have it be, & that frustrates me....but I have to respect other people also. I do think the hubby takes it far too personally, especially since I BARELY mention him & I have SEEN what other wives blog about THEIR hubbies hahahahahahaha I have NEVER mentioned anyone from his life or his family, like I need more probs with the in-laws lol, & I typically keep it to me & the kids, but it can be a fine line & you can never please everyone I guess! I also have A LOT of my own family who just don't read it or get it...screw 'em. They all know I have been writing my whole life, if I finally published a book would they refuse to read it?? Ultimately I guess we all need to write for ourselves, & not be worried about those around us as long as we respect their privacy in the process.

Rita,
I only share my blog with family and really close friends. Two of those friends happen to be co-workers. I don't like telling all my co-workers because I don't want my words to bite me.

Didn't any of these woman every have a diary? I had a journal - actually I have like 7. "What's the Point?" was my cousin's response too...and I KNOW she's kept a journal.
I turned my disaspoint into a post. I know she's not reading so I wasn't worried about her feelings - only my own for a change.

My family and friends do know about my website, but I wish now that I hadn't introduced them to it. Case in point...I just got off the phone with my mother. I told her about my blog when I first started it because I was excited and I just knew that it was going to be a big part of my life.

At first, she was really excited for me and asked how much money I was making. Then, when I explained to her that blogging does not equal money, she instantly soured to "what's the point?" I tried to explain to her that I blogged because it was enjoyable and it was a great outlet and I met great people through it all. Still, all she wants to know is, when do you start making money?

So, months go by and I call her to tell some REALLY exciting news...An article I wrote is being published on a Christian mothers' website yay! Again, she is super excited and says "Are you getting paid for it!?" No. I'm not. "What's the point?" So, my joy in getting accepted to write a guest post is brought down all because I can't get my own family to be excited for what I see are successes...even if I'm not making money for it.

I really wish I had never told them in the first place. Then it could truly be my space.
