Genuine Readers/Followers

I will first apologize to anyone who might be offended by this discussion. It is not intended, at all, whatsoever to hurt anyone's feelings.

I'm discouraged. I'm annoyed. I'm unhappy with where the blogging world is headed.

I've been a blogger since 2007. I've been apart of several networks over the last few years, and I've loved every part of it. Meeting new Moms. Being inspired. Being inspired by a stranger who has no idea that they're inspiring someone who lives on the other side of the world. Its enticing and thrilling all wrapped up into one.

These days I feel like its a huge competition of who has the most followers. Its hard for me to believe that someone who follows over 300 and something blogs, actually reads every single one of them, individually and sincerely. Especially Mommy bloggers. This whole " stopped by. Following you now. Follow me back ... please! "

I despise it.

How about, ....you follow me, you read my blog. You stay in touch with me.. because. Are you ready?? Here it comes.

" Because you really want to.

Not for the ONE more follower on your own blog."

I'd rather have one true " follower." One true reader. Who is inspired my writings and pictures, and stories... then 30, 567, 756 followers who have no idea who I am.

The blogs I follow, I read. I comment on their postings. I know them as if they were friends who lived next door. I appreciate the time they take to post - and what they post about. These women inspire me to be a better Mommy, wife, friend, sister, and person. And I LOVE THAT. It starts my mornings off perfectly, and I can always count on one or even a few of these women to bring me back to a place of " happy."

This is what blogging is about.

AM I THE ONLY ONE LEFT? Am I the only one out here who feels this way?

Can we ever get back to the place where bloggers are blogging because they want to inspire others? Because they want to be inspired?

Being a review blog We are required to have a lot of followers i have over 700 followers and follow more than that.Having said that I go to my dashboard daily and look at the blog posts that are streaming and when i see one that gets my attention i read that blog or Blogs.There are thousands of great blogs out there and i wish i could find and read them all. If I really enjoy the Blog I add it to my Favorites Tab.So i think the pressure to be active on other social media sites as well does not leave a lot of time to comment or leave comments such as following you from the hop.When they should be more loyal,after all we want to know we are writing and that people are reading.I don't like when i stop by a blog follow them read their posts and leave a comment and they might follow me back but leave no comments.Some people don't like giveaway or review sites that's ok but let me know you're not interested by leaving comments on our blogs comments are like a bloggers pay check so make us rich with comments that our genuine and not fake.I have had the pleasure to see and learn so many things from other bloggers and want to continue in learning new crafts from other bloggers or make a new great recipe or how to make a scrap book page or read about your experiences as a parent or your thought s on the newest products.
