I had a guest post on my old blog (It was a friend of mine), and I see them all the time.
If this is a blogger that you like and follow, or would like to follow, it might be fun to do. It is a god way to promote her blog to your readers, as well as promote your blog to her readers.
Basically it usually works to where she writes a blog post, then emails you the html for it. You can then make sure it is something you would want on your blog. You know.. have her give you the post a few days before it is set to be published.

Anyway...If you want to publish it, just introduce her and add a link to her site in the post, then  add her html.
You can ask that she put a little post on her blog the day that she is guest blogging on your blog and set up a link.
Another thing I've seen is, if it's a project or recipe, it is common for the guest to want to put the same post on their own blog at a later date. This is usually done at least a week later.

It's not too hard, and it's a lot of fun and a good way to  promote your blog (and hers).
If you like her blog, go for it!
