A Mom Blog Social Network
What do you do to re-capture your time and cut back on crazy? I've recently found myself answering the question "How are you?" by saying, "Busy!" Sometimes, it feels as if being pulled in a thousand directions is just my new normal. Yet I also realize that with all the different hats I wear, I've got to be smart about my time. No one is going to do that for me! How about you? What do you do to cut back on crazy?
Blessings,

I guess I just try to prioritize things, then see what I can cut out of my schedule.
Permalink Reply by Tiffany Noth on June 30, 2012 at 8:07am I am struggling with the same exact thing!
I never realized but I do answer the same way - and it makes no sense!! "How are you?" "Busy."
I have always been fantastic at scheduling, making my lists, etc... It seems as if others around me aren't understanding my schedule and status as a WAHM rather than a mom who is sitting around waiting for their call or plans for me.
When you figure this out.... PLEASE let me know! ;-)
Permalink Reply by Susie on June 30, 2012 at 7:17pm Right? I have not taken the steps to monetize my blog yet, but it is definitely in the works and I am learning more about it and laying the foundation. It's a lot of WORK. People just don't understand that. Add in the homeschooling and other regular mommy duties, and where is the free time? I need to set a better schedule for myself, I think! lol
Permalink Reply by Dr. Ann on July 1, 2012 at 11:25am Hi Susie and Tiffany,
Thanks for weighing in! It looks as if this is something all moms struggle with. I've also always been a great scheduler...until I had kids! Since then, the routine is always shifting, and so is my schedule. For me, at least, that's a big part of the challenge!
Blessings,
Ann

Permalink Reply by Amanda Faulkner on July 4, 2012 at 10:12am I am a planner - I keep a schedule. I have lists. Can you tell I'm totally a type - A, slightly OCD personality?! lol. I ended up making my own planner that fits my needs because I couldn't find one in the store that I liked. I have a cleaning schedule - I meal plan. And when I cook I try to double the recipe and put a meal in the freezer. For me organizing is key. And keeping up with a few daily tasks gives me time to relax in the end.

Permalink Reply by Amy Bliss on July 5, 2012 at 3:01am That's a really great way to handle it. I've always tried to plan and do lists, but never can keep it up. I haven't ever heard of someone scheduling in their "me" time. I think more moms need to do that. What an awesome idea!
Permalink Reply by Super?Mom on September 15, 2012 at 8:24pm I try to keep planned and organized, but I take at least a half hour or an hour doing something I know won't be productive but will help me relax. That time helps me get more done because I'm not as frazzled the rest of the day. I've also learned that most things aren't as important as I think, and if it doesn't get done today it'll probably be ok, so I prioritize and focus on less then I used to.
