“You never know how long you have with someone, so don’t forget to say I love you while you can.” Author: Michael Jackson

My dad was killed in a car accident in 1988. Losing a parent in life is always devastating but the worst thing about accidents is they don’t allow you time to say goodbye. I was recently asked what I would change in my life if I could do it again and that’s why I responded that I’d go back in time and tell my dad, “I love you” over and over again!

What would you do differently if you were given the chance?

I'm sorry for your lose. I also lost my dad this pay May. We had a difficult relationship. I would also go back in time and fix our relationship.

Sandra.
Dear Sandra,
I am terribly sorry to hear of the recent loss of your dad. Unfortunately, the healing process is sometimes even harder when the relationship was fragile. I found it very helpful to talk to my friends and please count me as one of them if you'd like to "talk".
Sincerely,
Karyn
You are very sweet. I have my ups and downs and alot of unresolve issues. He was in a comma for 3 weeks. During that time, I was filled with emotions of anger, sadness, confusion, etc. The first week all I did was tell him how much he had hurt me. How much I had tried to pleased him to no avail. Then by the 5th day, he started shedding tears. He only shed tears with me. I was shocked, I didn't know he could hear me. I don't want to bore you.

thank you for your kindness.

God Bless.

Sandra.
I am so pleased you shared your thoughts with your dad and that he responded with tears! If only you had had the time to really talk things over. You are definitely not boring me ... don't ever worry about that!
I lost my little brother in a car accident 8 years ago and it seems like yesterday. The horrible accident stays in my head and the way he looked in his casket. He was only 20. I miss him deeply and wish I could have been a better sister- instead of telling him to stay away from us because he was doing drugs, I should have offered a place for him to escape. I wish I could go back. I lost my father at the age of 5 so I know how you feel. It's never easy no matter how many years go by. We need our dads! I wish I had mine!

Lots of love woman! xoxo
Dear Vic,
You have suffered so much loss! I am terribly sorry to hear about your younger brother and your dad ... both of them were far too young. I can't even imagine what it was like to lose your dad when you were only 5 years old. And it's a tragedy that your brother was mixed up with drugs!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
Sincerely,
Karyn

We do need our dads. Stay strong.
You too!
