I totally understand your point about sincerity. If someone writes a comment like "Stopping by from Blog Hop. My site is --------", I have to wonder if they even read my post. I promise to always leave a thoughtful comment. By the way, I have NO idea what you're talking about re: the question I didn't respond to. I always reply to all emails so I'm wondering if your question got stuck in my junk mail. Please let me know what you're looking for and I'll send it right away.

I always try to visit the blogs of my commenters, it may just take some time before I can get there. With four little ones and homeschooling it could be a week or more before I get to really visit and thoughtfully respond :)

I have been trying my best to keep up with the blogs I follow. It's not always easy, but if they do make a comment I really try to either- email back about their comment (if they asked a question) or browse their bog and comment on anything. Sometimes I end up commenting on something a month old just because it interested me.
I agree with Angela, here. If the person says, "dropping by, to follow , follow me back," it's kinda a let down. I LOVE followers don't get me wrong, but it's the ones that keep coming back we all want. You know?

Just visited your blog Karyn - left a couple comments & followed too. :)

On comments:
When somebody leaves a comment on my blog I will at least click on their name and go read theirs for a bit. If it looks interesting I'll follow and leave a comment to let them know I'm returning the visit.

If their blog really catches my attention I'll leave more than a one sentence comment, but that depends more on how talkative I'm feeling at the time than anything. I love to read, but have to be in the right mood to talk. Hope that makes sense. :)

I have to be honest that I've neglected to comment back. I do try and respond to comments though. I also visit and join their blogs. I comment on many blogs that have not been reciprocated. I will now take more consideration as I've never thought about it this way. Thanks
