Hi Aileen!

 

In addition to what Alison already said, check out some of the sites for free backgrounds and graphics.  Even just some added color and texture will make your blog a lot more visually appealing.  I'm impressed that you dived in with Wordpress!  I tried it and I found Blogger so much easier (at least for me) to navigate.

 

Good luck!  Blogging is a lot of work, but it's totally fun too!

What's your blogging philosophy? Blog about what you would like to read, because if you like it, it shows a lot about your personality- and THAT is what draws people to you. I've been writing since 2000. Besides cooking/ baking, its the one escape I have. I had 2 boys already, and that's enough of a reason to need to vent. When we lost 2 babies in '09, though, writing was the one thing I could do to get out my feelings without worrying about what I said or what might hurt others. Now, after being told by numerous people lately that I need to write a book, I figured that blogging again seriously was a great place to start.

Hey everyone! I'm new to the site, so I'm just introducing myself! I'm a 24 year-old SAHM and wife with 2 awesome little boys, ages 2 and a half years and my youngest is now 7 months. I live in the backwoods of Louisiana and have a pretty normal lifestyle. My hubby and I both play the guitar and I myself enjoy gardening, grilling, writing, painting... um anything creative really.  I have a brand-new online store where I sell my painting, jewelry, and soothie keepers amoung other things I make.
