A Mom Blog Social Network
We're up in arms about this seeming to be a promotion site... so, we should endeavor to make it a more supportive, social site... right?
What do you do with your kids for fun?
How do you relax?
How do you keep your kids busy?
I take mine to the Science Center. I'm blessed to have free museums here in the St. Louis area. Art Museum, History Museum, Science Center, Zoo...

I'm with you on this one! I'm in New Zealand so different kind of things to do here. We moved here from South Africa to give our kids a safer upbringing. I'm hoping that my blog will eventually give me a passive income so I can get off that hamster wheel and have more time with my kids (twin girls 4 and little guy 6). I love taking them to the park as its so lovely here and its nice for me too ... our park is at the beach and its great to grab a coffee, have a bit of time with hubby and watch the kids play. We often forget those simple things that give us joy.
Take care
Leigh

Permalink Reply by Susie on May 15, 2012 at 11:10pm What do you do with your kids for fun?
We go to the park, have picnics in the living room, do crafts, or just watch a movie together.
How do you relax?
Hide from the kids!
Just kidding! I like to crochet, it is very relaxing for me. So is baking! :-)
How do you keep your kids busy?
Sometimes I give them projects to do. The other day we made some cute little paper hand puppets they are quick for me, and they spend time coloring them then even more time playing with them. :-)
(I did blog about them... and not to self promote, but here is the link if you want to make them. They are fun and they really do keep the kids busy! lol http://earning-my-cape.blogspot.com/2012/05/quick-paper-hand-puppet...)
Permalink Reply by Amy Bliss on June 22, 2012 at 6:30pm When you say "hide from the kids" does that mean you've actually found a successful hiding spot?? If so, you should totally share with every other mother on here. LOL
My great-grandmother taught me how to crochet, but just chains that went 15 feet. Ha!
Those paper puppets are great! I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years. :)
Permalink Reply by Susie on June 29, 2012 at 2:01am Sorry it took so long for me to get back on this one (I was hiding! LOL)
No, I have not yet successfully hidden from my kids. They always find me! :-/
I can sometimes get a few minutes alone in a room, nut that is always foiled by knocks, screams or "Mom, can I....'s". Oh well! In all honesty, I wouldn't have it any other way.
LOLing at your 15 ft long chain!! I've totally been there!
Permalink Reply by Amy Bliss on June 29, 2012 at 3:20am Yeah, my favorite yarn was the rainbow stuff. :) I think it still might be. I love the looms too. You know the round ones with pegs? I'm such a kid. We had those in 4th grade as some sort of project. The scarf I made was obnoxiously long... seems to be a theme going there. Maybe I'll get one.
Permalink Reply by Tiffany Noth on June 9, 2012 at 9:48pm Hi Amy! I definitely want people to see this and use it as a community... and not only a place to post a link and leave! Get cozy and meet some friends! Great discussion! Thank you!
What do you do with your kids for fun?
We spend a lot of time outdoors! We go to the state park, playground, baseball and tennis courts. In the Summer we swim and generally spend a lot of time in the back yard.
How do you relax?
I relax by reading and writing - and chatting with the wonderful women I have met via social media!
How do you keep your kids busy?
I generally try to keep them as active as possible, whether it's brain exercises or running around and playing. My daughter is getting old enough to help in the kitchen and help with some things around the house. She's also young enough to still enjoy that!
Permalink Reply by Amy Bliss on June 22, 2012 at 6:31pm Hi!
What kind of brain exercises? Mine will be 6 here shortly and we're always talking and learning, but do you have specific things you do that aren't workbook based?
Do you know what I mean? Nothing that's too "school-like" so he still feels like he's on vacation.
Permalink Reply by Tiffany Noth on June 25, 2012 at 9:39am We do workbook as well - but I meant more like talking and asking about shapes, colors {when they're younger}. My daughter - we discuss various animals and how they live and breath. We do play a lot of games that help them to think things out - problem solving. Ooh this would be a great post!

Picnics, movie marathons (with popcorn, candy, etc.)
How do you relax?
I usually end up doing my nails. I love nail art, so I slip away and relax that way.
How do you keep your kids busy?
My kids are spoiled into thinking that if we aren't out spending money, they're bored! So I'm constantly having to come up with creative and FREE things to do.
Permalink Reply by Amy Bliss on June 22, 2012 at 6:35pm Where do you live, Kasheia? I'm really fortunate here in St. Louis to have so many free museums and events to go to.
Movie marathons! Love those. What are the kids' favorites? I can repeat Cars word for word. :)
I bite my nails. It's a nasty habit. When I grow them out I get frustrated because they're weak (because I bite them lol) and bite them off again. Bitter nail stuff doesn't work for me. I'm stubborn like that.
Permalink Reply by Melissa Beverly Hills Mom on June 18, 2012 at 8:00pm I do just about everything fun with my kids from shopping to play. We do visit Disneyland and Santa Monica Pier often. We make it to Disneyland about 3 maybe 4 times a month and the other weekly. We just like to do chill fun things and make that our priority. There is so much to do here in LA from museums to just walking around, I LOVE it.
