Interesting question! I think that the best compliment I've ever received was from my husband who told me that I was a good mom.  To me, that's priceless! :O)

I wish I could say it was from someone within the family, but it would have to be one that I got yesterday from one of the librarians that I "work with."

She told my boss that she was impressed by my efficiency and meticulous-ness (is that even a real word?).

Of course, me being me, I blew it off (I don't like to make a big deal in public) like it was nothing, but inside it made me feel good that someone recognized my work.

That I was just like my mom!  She was the absolute best person and mom in the world and for someone to think that I could even come close to being like her; it took my breath away.

I actually received the sweetest one from my new friend Seth recently on twitter, so I favourited it and when I'm feeling a little down I re-read it and immediately cheer up.

It was a #FF a couple weeks ago and I melted: "#FF @nonmom, and your life will become immediately easier. She's simply the best. What else can anyone say? Not enough character's in the..."

At the beginning of the semester one of my students blew me away with a letter of appreciation. In she wrote, "I can tell that you love your family and that you love God by the way you act and by the words you say." Wow. It was a such a convicting, humbling, honored moment for me. Her compliment really touched me. It also made me incredibly aware of how my students are watching my words and actions.

My son's stepmom is a professor and she'd gotten one like that. :) She was thrilled.

So happy you've gotten one. It lets you know how much of a difference you can make as a teacher. :)

Recently my next door neighbor, and dear friend, told me she didn't know what she'd do without me and thought I was the most amazing friend ever. :) Absolutely warmed my heart.

Funny I came across this...the compliment was for my mom and not me! A 20-something young man stopped her in the store (after obviously checking her out a few times!)to tell her she had a "nice butt!!!" She's 58!!!

someone asked me if I played tennis because I look just like Stephi Graph .. was very happy since I'm about 10 years older than her :-)
