A Mom Blog Social Network
Hello Bloggy Moms!
I'm curious to know what your blog traffic was like when you first started and where you are now:
1. 1st month (I had 1650 visits during the first month)
2. 6th month
3. 1st year
4. 2nd year
5. 3+ year
When did you notice a huge traffic increase and what did you do to get there?
xoxo,
Janise

I try to remind myself all the time that what makes blogs so great is that they speak to you in a way that makes you feel heard and like somebody out there gets you. But not all blogs are going to be about things I'm feeling or experiencing. That doesn't mean it's a lame blog, it just means it's not speaking to me and where I am in my life.

Permalink Reply by Michelle McLachlan on April 5, 2013 at 3:00pm I still, after a year and a half, have not even hit 1000 page views. I also don't post enough. I got discouraged after I did a 25 days of Christmas Cookies post and only received 200 total hits for the month of december that year. I tweet, I FB, I comment and I wait. But it's encouraging to know it can be done. I will just have to wait my turn for things to come.
Super excited for all you ladies out there! Go get 'em!
Permalink Reply by Mama (Karen) Carmody on April 6, 2013 at 4:23pm Michelle, it is going slowly for me too but I too don't post enough. The one thing I have read though is that quality is better than quantity. You also have to enjoy what you are blogging about and feel fulfillment even if you don't have a ton of people following you yet. I keep holding on to that. I see a few more people start to follow each day so I know I am touching people. I am content to watch things grow even if its slow.
Permalink Reply by Vicky Willenberg on April 10, 2013 at 1:34am Oh Mama I have missed chatting with you. As always, i totally agree with your wisdom. Over the last few weeks I've felt really discouraged about my blog and I realized it was because I was totally focusing on numbers and shares and likes. It was so silly because I have been writing this blog for a long time and it always made me happy. Why? Because I never cared about any of that stuff. So, I'm just going to post because i love it and write about waht makes me happy and makes me laugh and if people follow... awesome. If not, I'll be happy my mom reads it;)

I think poting a lot is the toughest part. I don't post a lot either. I try to post once a week- twice if I'm feeling especially sassy;) just an idea: I use my blog FB page to keep connected to readers even when I'm not posting on the blog. I can always throw 2-3 things per day on my FB page. They take only moments and keep us engaged. I have to say I've gotten to know a lot of my readers through the page. It's been really nice. In fact, some have become friends that I would have never known about because they'd be just a "pageview" or random 'commenter". I have really enjoyed the connection the FB page has provided in between posts;) Just a thought. Come on over an say HI if you want;)
