Permalink Reply by Glenda Embree on July 8, 2010 at 10:34am Most of mine are also Etsy shops....I love their stuff, and they've been great to work with so far. I do have a couple regular sites that I got to sponsor me, but I'm excited to be up to 11 sponsors now! I wasn't going to do any at first....just use my Avon for the giveaways. Congrats on all your sponsors!
Permalink Reply by Tree on July 8, 2010 at 11:24am How is the sponsor search going, Tree? I have four so far, but have sent 61 PR letters to get that far. My husband thinks I went after to many big name sponsors and should have stuck with small home-based companies. I do have a couple, but was hoping for some "big name" excitement to drive the traffic. Also, I just sent the PR letters on the Friday before the Fourth of July weekend. Not sure how long is reasonable to wait, before assuming they're not interested. I sure would appreciate some feedback from veterans. Maybe I'll make this same post on the Blogmania forum.
Permalink Reply by Tree on July 8, 2010 at 4:00pm For me - the pressure was just to get my giveaway value up to $100. I was sending out e-mails like crazy being all nervous to make sure I could get enough people - since I'm such a new blog. But after that - I've just sent a few out each week and now have 3 prize packs valued at about $100 each. So I'm comfortable with that. I'm no where near competing with some of the folks that have 8 or 900 dollars worth of prizes but I think people are going to visit us too - no matter what. I'm sure there will be people that hit up ALL of the blogs no matter what the prize.
I definitely have had the most luck with Artfire and Etsy but another suggestion is to look at other blogs to see people that are participating in their giveaways. I have found 2 or 3 sponsors that way. I mean - its worth the try anyway - right? :)
Hope my input helps a little!
Permalink Reply by Glenda Embree on July 8, 2010 at 4:41pm Great ideas, Jacque! I've also slowed down on my pursuit for sponsors. Right now, I have 2 prize packs worth over $200 each, and I'm fine with that as well. I'm sure, like you said, people will visit regardless....it's a giveaway after all. LOL

Permalink Reply by Tree on July 10, 2010 at 2:11pm I've sent out maybe 20 just before the holiday and I've only received 2 notices back...Both no. :( One doesn't want their product in a bundle of others and the other said my blog was too small. I just started this blog a few weeks ago and I'm thinking that's why I haven't heard back.
I have about 138 followers and 188 subscribers as of right now, just checked LOL. My other blog (original) I have only 2 sponsors as a yes for Blog Fest... There its over 400 followers and almost 500 subscribers.
WHo should I go after? WHos easy? Im not concerned too much about blogfest since Ive gotten the 2 and theres no price setting, but Blogmania I need!! I havent tried Etsy. Maybe Ill give that a go.
