Hi! I'm in Nor Cal too, next to Roseville. There's so much to do up here with kids. Folsom lake is one of my favorites, Folsom Zoo, Sac Zoo, it kind of depends on where you are. We're about 40 minutes away from a stop on the 80 that's a free place to sled and play in the snow.

We moved to NorCal a little over a year agao. We are in roseville. We love the farmer's market, walks and all of the outdoor activities california has to offer.

Hi- I am new to bloggy moms and semi-new to California but not that close to you.  It is such a big state.  Although we did go to Sacramento for vacation last summer.  I loved the zoo area, Fairytale land, old town and the park (near the zoo).  Check out my blog if you want and I will follow you back.

Hi! I'm in the area, too! :-) You've probably pretty much settled in by now, and found all of the places to go, but I had to chime in and tell you about Apple Hill. It's a whole area just past Placerville (East on hwy 50). Apples are about in season now, so a lot of the orchards will be opening up.  High Hill Ranch is a fun stop on Apple Hill. There is a pond- you can fish.... there are picnic tables, there are craft booths, and there is food. So much fun! Also, while you are in the area, check out Main St. in Placerville. There are some cute little shops there. Very historic. 

Oh and just outside Shingle Springs (still on hwy 50, before you get to Placerville) there is the Red Hawk Casino. They have a yummy buffet and they have an arcade for the kids. There is also a "Kid's Quest" there. You check the kids in & they babysit them. You pay by ... I think every 15 minutes. It is fairly reasonable. The kids can play with toys, there's a play structure, a sports court, arts & crafts, dress up, and all of the video games in kids quest are free (well, with admission). Parents can't go in, but there is a snack bar there & parents can hang out there if they want to... or they can go to the casino. lol My kids love it. We always hang out at the snack bar/arcade while they play. :-)
