Just over 2 years ago we planned our homebirth with an amazing midwife, truly gifted doctor and a doula, much to the ridicule of my family and friends.  In the end our little one, who we had decided to name Erin, matching her father's Eric, lived up to her name which in actual fact means PEACE.  On the day she was to arrive we were required to go in to hospital due to some bleeding, only to find out afterwards there really was no reason.

BUT we still had a natural birth, in a squatting position, no stitches, no tearing, no epidural or such, no doctor intervention.  We went in at 12, she was born at 2.15pm and we were ready to leave at 4, much to the hospital staff's confusion.

I can give advice on what worked for me.  I don't know everything, but I do know some.

I'm so excited to see this group! I have had one hospital birth with my first, and my last two were homebirths. You can read about them on my blog The Mahogany Way.

Hi Girls! 

 

I'm so excited this group is moving. I started Natural Birth Mama when I thought know one else was doing this group. Its for not just home birth Moms, but also ones that went all natural. I'm super excited I'm not alone on this site and that there are other like me.... reading a few posts I was beginning to wonder.

Hi Ladies! Sorry I havent replied sooner. I am currently expecting my 2nd baby and having a planned homebirth again . She's due any day now and I am so ready for her to come.

I'm glad to finally see that there i van interest and new members to the group.

I'm am so tired right now, gonna take my nap whole my hubby has an eye on the 1y/o.

Hi ladies! I am totally onboard with a home birth.  I had my daughter in the hospital and I am definately going the home birth route next time around.  I am also collecting birth stories for a book I am writing. Hi Dana!

 

Are we alone out here in natural childbirth?

 

I'm new to blogging, this site, and this group.

 

I had my first daughter with a midwife in a birthing center naturally and my second daughter in a freestanding birthing center with 2 midwives (do I count as a home birth?). I loved my second experience and plan on eventually having my third at home (hopefully I can convince my hubby).

 

So glad I found your group.
