I am new here, so I'd like to take this moment to introduce myself briefly! I'm Amy, 28 years old. I'm the mama to Brielle, age 8, and Trenton, age 1. Trenton was born with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. He will be undergoing surgery around June for a cochlear implant in his left ear if he is medically cleared through a MRI and CT Scan. He does wear hearing aids now, but they are not benefiting him because of his range of loss. We will most likely be getting him a cochlear in the right ear at a later time as well, but for now he will be keeping the hearing aid in the right ear. Trenton has also been diagnosed with Benign External Hydrocephalus (BEH), but his doctors are not too concerned by it at this point because his head growth is finally slowing. It's been a long process, but he is such a trooper! I am looking forward to connecting with other moms of special needs kids.

As so many have said, I am new here, just wanted to introduce myself. My blog, "Living in the Right Turn Lane" was started as a place to talk about our journey with our 8 year old son. He is the survivor of encephalitis, the doctors said he would never survive and now due to the trama to his brain he lives with memory loss issues that make learning and sometimes day to day living frustrating for him.

Hi there, 

I just started blogging in March so I'm a total newbie. I have three children - two boys and a girl. My eldest son has a developmental disability and is non-verbal. He communicates using sign language and a voice output device.

Hi, I'm new and wanted to say "hi".  I have 5 special needs kids - all biological and a special needs husband.  (Desert Storm vet)  I write on a hodge-podge of things, but usually my kids are somewhere in the mix of things.  They are the reason my world rotates.  If you are interested in checking out my blog, you can find me here:  Wife...
