Writer's Workshop Weekly Prompt and Link Up (April 23, 2012)

Yes, I realize I'm a day late and I apologize. Things have gone from hectic to chaotic here with the addition of my stepsons for a week (good chaotic!). I am ready to get back into the swing of things. Are you?

We had some wonderful entries with our last link up. Some very creative takes on the prompt. This week I hope more will discover the fun of writing and get brave enough to hit publish on that story. We really want to read it!

As always a new prompt is issued on Mondays and you have until Saturday, 11:59 PM EST, to write and link up. Everyone is welcome to participate, no matter what genre or style of writing you do. What are you waiting for? Join in the fun!

This week's prompt involves music. Think about that story that's been on your mind. Think about your main character, or maybe a side character. Think about the story itself, or maybe just a pivotal scene in the story. You got it in your head? Do you hear that music playing in the background? What if your story were made into a movie? What song(s) come to mind? Pick one and write the scene that plays out in your head when you hear it. Let it inspire you.

Not working on a story? That's okay. You can let any song inspire you. Just pick one and write.

There is no word count this week, but remember to keep your words tight and pack a bigger punch with less words. You can do it.
