Can you believe its the end of the month already? 2012 is flying by! We've done some really FANTASTIC writing this month too.
Did you miss it? No worries. There's a new prompt issued EVERY MONDAY that you can join in on.
Whether you choose fiction, memoir, blogging, non-fiction, or creative non-fiction, the prompt is for you to write whatever you are inspired to write. That's the purpose of the prompt. I am always open to prompt suggestions, so feel free to send them to me!!
Ok, so let's get the ball rolling here. You will have until 11:59 pm on Saturday to write to the prompt and link up your work. A new prompt and a new linkup will go up the following Monday.
This week I'm going to change things up a little bit. In addition to the writing prompt, you have an assignment. The purpose behind this assignment is to discover the sites and learn how to use it to not only benefit yourself but your fellow writers. Some of you may know what they are, others may have only heard about them, and others may not know anything about them. I promise it's easy.
There is no word count this week!! (but warning, we will be doing some word counts very soon!)
Your prompt is:
Find a picture from StumbleUpon or Pinterest that inspires you and write a story based on the picture. Share the picture and tell us where you got it from when you post your story.
A brief explanation: Pinterest can be an incredible source of inspiration for a writer. Finding pictures to fit the scenes in your head help you write a more vivid description of the scene.
StumbleUpon is a great resource for not only getting inspiration but sharing great posts in a greater capacity. When you hit the Stumble button on the bottom of someone's post, you are putting it out there in a more noticeable way.
I will talk about this in greater detail on Wednesday when I start our weekly tips and tricks. We will also have a guest author or two visiting us this month too!!
So much to look forward to!
Don't forget to display the BMWW badge in the post somewhere and link up with the url to the POST not your BLOG. Leave a comment after you post letting us know it's there. Try to read the others who link up, as many as you can, and leave a comment or critique.
Happy Writing!!
