@Gale it's faster for me to write poetry as well which is why I write so much of it. I'm trying to write longer posts like short stories, but it's all about time.Poetry comes more natural to me also.

Jenna, I know what you mean.  But, I find poetry is easier to read as a mom than some other literature.  Its easier to find time to read a poem than time to read a novel.  :-)

Welcome Jena! When I started having my kids, I didn't get to read or write as much as I use to. I'm just beginning to learn how to carve out time for myself.

Hi, I'm Jena. I am new to bloggymoms :) I have an amazing and very active 10 month old, Tatum. I love Poetry but haven't read much in the past few years. I'm def looking forward to learning more.

I love people like you!! You all inspire us unknown authors to keep doing what we are doing because you show us people really do care! It's been hard to find an audience that can relate to the poetry I post on my blog.

I'd have been surprized if you had...I think she's published some things but she's not in any anthologies.  Just a poet blogger I follow. 

Some of my favorite poems are by people who are absolutely unknown.  Before kids I had a poetry site where I went out and looked for poems every month on a different theme.  Because of copyright the poems I posted were either very old, or very new (new enough that I could ask the author...can I use this?).  Found most of them on poetry forums.  It was fun.

Robert Frost and Walt Whitman are a couple of my favorites. I'm going to have to check out Emma Tree. I don't know if I've read much of her writing.

I love Seamus Heaney, Robert Frost, Sarah Teasdale, Shakespear Sonnets and a lot of contemporary poems.  My fave right now is Emma Tree...
