A Love Letter to My Husband

My Darling Husband,Strange I know, that I begin most every letter I've written to you with the words "darling husband", when I don't necessarily use those words when talking to you.   I may not say them, but I do consider you the most darling of husbands, plus every romantic letter usually starts with some sort of adoration.   It sets the mood. It's been almost nine years since you asked me to be your wife.  Nine years.  That's quite a span of time.   At first, I was nervous as to what our…See More

Never Forget the Power of YOUR Touch

You’ll recall a little over a week ago, I spoke of a book I’m reading and I encouraged all of you out there to pick it up as well.   It’s titled “52 Things Kids Need From a Mom” by Angela Thomas.   As I stated, it’s an easy read and separated out to be able to read a chapter a week, with each chapter really only being about five pages long.   Now, if I had been on schedule (which I’ve learned can be quite difficult once you become a mom) then I would have posted a blog about the second chapter…See More

Put Down Your Phone for This Important Message

I don’t like confrontation.   I may talk big, but for the most part I just avoid any sort of awkwardness.   That’s part of the reason for this blog…so that I can vent about the little things other parents do that bothers me.   And if you happen to be the parent this week who has annoyed me and you read my blog, well bring it on because what you’re doing is selfish.   As for those of you whom I have not caught behaving this way, well take note that you’ve been warned and you need to repent.  …See More

Eewww…breastmilk?!?!?!

I thought about biting my tongue, just keeping it quiet especially since I knew what the reaction would be.  But that was the problem…knowing what the reaction would be.   I couldn’t let it go.  It was like finding that one thing that really bothers someone and continuing to poke at it.We are and have been feeding Davey solids.   I’ve been pretty adamant about NOT buying processed baby food.  I want to make Davey’s food because at least this way I know for a fact what’s going into it. Continue…See More

Little Fingers, Little Creepers

They sneak up on you, sometimes a little unsure of themselves (not so much about what they’re going to explore) and shaky at times.   Some days they’re cold, other days, just right.   They find your face, your mouth, nose, eyes, and ears.   With the gentle softness of a cloud and the graze of a butterfly, they caress your face, placing their open palms on either side of your face.  They are a gift, something small and sometimes taken for granted.   They are your child’s fingers and…See More

Uh Oh Giggles

www.dreamingofmommyhood.comI love being a SAHM.  It is pure and simple joy for me.  It’s almost as if everything I’ve worked for in life has been towards this goal and outcome.   It’s just bliss and each day is something new, something exciting, something impossible for me to keep to myself. One of the greatest things about babies (and one of these days I’m going to create a blog listing all of the wondeful things) is their happiness and their…See More

Preparing for a Crawler

Yesterday I watched as Davey rolled over onto his belly and with sheer determination and a few grunts, placed his hands in front of him and pushed himself up, while also putting pressure on his knees.   I was quiet and held my breath as I was afraid my excitement over seeing him do this on his own would scare him thus causing him to lose his concentration and fall over.   This was a milestone and while I was super proud of my little prodigy, I didn’t want to overwhelm him. Continue...…See More

Did I Drain the Grease? Hmmm.....

There once was a girl who hated to cook. The kitchen she refused to look. But one day fate stepped in And soon it would begin That girl became a cook.

Alright, alright! I’m definitely not a poet who didn’t know it. Quite the opposite as you can see above. I’ve started taking to my role of a stay-at-home mom quite well. It’s only taken me a year to do it, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, kids! Ok. I’m done with the cheesy factor, at least with my writing.

Before I go on, let…

The Muffin Man

Posted on February 11, 2013 at 7:49pm 0 Comments

Do you know the muffin man, the muffin man, the muffin man?Yes, I know the muffin man, he lives on Davey Lane!

I had dinner with some of my girlfriends on Friday night. Most of us are now officially mothers so we have our little tots to always talk about. Only two of us are stay-at-home moms, and most of them will tell you that I was probably one of the least likely to be a stay-at-home mom, but I’ve taken to it like a moth to flame.

I told stories of what Davey and I do…
