The Terror of the Night

Princess is overall a great sleeper. After about three months of being home she got on a great schedule. She slept from 7:30p-8a. She would take a nap, some times two during the day. To this day her schedule is pretty similar other than the fact she wakes up around 6:30 but that's not a huge deal.At around 13 months Princess began waking up in screaming fits and no matter what we did she would not stop screaming. At first I thought she was teething so I'd try to rub my fingers on her gums.…See More

War of the Breast

It's not a surprise to hear that breastfeeding is the best feeding. It's in every parenting magazine, OB office, baby book - it's basically everywhere baby. I had planned at an early stage that I was going to breastfeed. It was cheap, supposedly my baby was going to be a genius from it, and I wasn't going to have a period (BONUS). It was basically shoved down my throat, and if I'm honest I felt like if I didn't breast feed it would make me a bad mother. It isn't a surprise to see how having…See More

The Blog That Never Was

I originally started blogging in March 2012. It started off as "My English Blessing", and I specifically was writing to keep my family updated on Princess's journey through the NICU. Then I just stopped writing after a post made me realize that I was in deep postpartum depression. I didn't really want to admit it but with the stress of Emily being in NICU, Karl being back in England, and everything seeming to go wrong - I guess it was inevitable especially since I have a past of…See More

Confessions of a Pageant Mom

Hi, my name is Cassie and I'm a pageant mom. There is a lot of stigma surrounding the adjective of pageant mom. People who hear that I've put Emily in pageants automatically think I'm living through my child or wasting money. It's understandable with shows like Toddler's and Tiara's. Parents seems to spend an abundant amount of cash with the hopes of an Ultimate win to only lose and have a child balling her eyes out even though she won the next highest title. Don't get me wrong, there ARE…See More

Through the Dark, There is Always Light

I guess you can say that I am lucky that Princess is only 14 months. I don't have to explain all the horrible things that have occurred in the short time she's been alive, because she won't remember. There's no denying the fact that 2012 was one heck of a year in terms of crazies. From the nut in the movie theater to the insane at the elementary school, it's kind of terrifying to think that this is the world my child is going to grow up in. I can say I'm lucky I don't have to explain why the…See More

It Pollened

click in for my official site. Follow & comment - I always do the same! I've lived in Georgia my entire life and have come to a conclusion that pollen has to be worse than snow. Up north it's the whole, "oh it's snowing, I hate it". Well here it's "oh it pollened, I hate it". I literally stepped outside and the entire front porch was covered in yellow and it' supposed to be brown. You're…See More

A Fresh Start

I took the longest hiatus from the blog. I wasn't really excited to write anymore. I felt like I was trying hard to get an audience and not getting the results. All I can figure is that my posts were super boring because I wasn't writing what I wanted to write, but instead writing what I assumed people wanted to read. Well now with a new design and a new outlook on my blog, I am specifically writing what I would want to read. In the long run I'm hoping that…See More

Emily's NICU battle.

I've been meaning to write about Emily's NICU time and I have been putting it off. I guess it's a little hard for me to revisit it. That is a problem in itself because most people around me want to forget, but I think it's important to always remember her fight and the struggle I had as a mother leaving my daughter everyday for 57 days. Here it is, finally, Emily's NICU battle. The first time I…See More
