I grew up in an apartment in the Bronx and then Queens. In between those two boroughs came a short stint on Long Island. After a year my dad found he preferred playing golf on a lawn a lot more than mowing one! I remember my mother grilling almost every night during that brief period; she loved that it meant no pots to wash. In case you didn’t know, April is National Grilled Cheese month. We take this time to celebrate and reflect….. on grilled cheese. Laugh all you want – but not only does grilled cheese get a month long celebration – it gets a separate day of honor as well, April 12^th, National Grilled Cheese Day. In this country we take our grilled cheese as seriously as the Super Bowl.
