After the kids went to bed that night, I headed to the office and spent a good hour or more digging around lego.com. I had a momentary burst of excitement when I discovered that they had a ‘pick a brick’ section, with a vast selection of every Lego item in production, it seemed, including faces, hair, skin tones and colours for tops, arms and legs. Imagine my disappointment when I dug deeper to find that out of hundreds of possible combinations, there was still only one ‘girlish’ face (not a…

I'm so glad the read kiddo read site is helpful for you. My daughters have found at least three titles each that we are looking for at our local libraries. Its such a helpful site.
The bamboo refers to the "Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet" that allows you to draw a picture that will show up on your computer screen. You can then insert the drawing into your posts or wherever you would like. I just love it when I see posts that have drawings expressing the emotions or actions in their posts - they're usually really funny. If you search for the tablet on Amazon, its there and you'll find more details. It looks like another creative outlet I'd love to utilize! I'll let you know if/when I purchase it and what I think of it.
I am not the artist. I wish I was! I found two very talented artists at fiverr.com. My logo is an artist who specializes in line drawings and my "about me" picture is from an artist who will draw a picture of you based on a photo of yourself. They both did a great job. I've been very impressed with the talent at Fiverr.
I, myself, would like to buy a bamboo writing pad and start incorporating stick figure drawings into some of my posts. I think that would be fun. :)
I love your tagline for your blog! Very well said. Definitely what my husband and I are trying to do with our three little ones (10,8, and 4)- enjoy the moment, but always think about their future too. It does look like we started blogging around the same time- I really enjoy meeting other bloggers with similar time in the blogosphere as me. So much to relate to! My first post was on March 28th.
I really don't know how I functioned without this - it is true therapy. I'm currently reading a book called "Writing down the Bones". Blogging is inspiring me to become a more descriptive writer and this book helps quite a bit in learning this skill.
Thanks so much for connecting! :)
