Pig Down a Slide! LOL!

It has been such a stressful morning!! I am sure most moms can relate since today is the day the kiddos energy and excitement levels skyrocket with the anticipation of trick-or-treating this evening! But first the pre-trick-or-treating festivities, school parties and parades. And of course mom is the one who is responsible for making certain […]

5 Essentials for Staying Focused when Working from Home

Some may say that taking on a couple Interior Design projects, Photography, fulfilling obligations as a SAHM, maintaining head organizer of a playgroup, homework helper, playing chauffer to after school activities, and having a husband with a job that involves travel and random schedules is quite possibly the perfect recipe for a nervous breakdown. And […]

Simple 4-Ingredient Meals Kids Love

So, remember when Rachel Ray came out with her 30 minute meals? And most moms were all like woo-hoo!! Well, I was all like, “30 minutes! That is a long time to spend in the kitchen”! And don’t even get me started on the number of ingredients required for those 30 minute meals! I make […]

Simple-3 Ingredient Apple Crisp Recipe! The Kids will LOVE!

Saturday it got darn right chilly! So chilly that our little Anna woke up ecstatic declaring Frozen was on the way! Haha! She put on her mittens, scarf, hat, and pants and ran outside to play in Frozen and wait for snow. When the snow didn’t arrive she came inside along with her older sibs and they helped make apple crisp and get out our fall decorations.  …See More

How I Spend my Free Time

I lay in bed strategizing ways to tactfully make my way down the stairs, grab my book from the living room, and make a mad dash into the family room without waking up a soul. It was going to happen, today was my day! I was going to do it! I was going to read! After all what is the point of being a part of a book club if you never get to read the darn book!? I glanced at the alarm clock it read 5:30am. Yes! I had the potential to read for an entire hour! The combination of anticipation,…See More

Power of the Pen!

Some people would say that the cost of silence is free. Those people are not mothers. There is always a cost. Like when your toddler is having a full on tantrum during the 2nd hour of a 14 hour trip so you give him the remaining ½ of a chocolate bar knowing full well that it will leave the worst mess on him, the car seat, the car, etc. but your sanity and that of your husbands is well worth the mess.  Or maybe you plopped junior in front of the TV because you needed to do the laundry and now,…See More

Essential oil remedies you MUST try! (Giveaway)

As most of you know I am a huge advocate for living a sustainable and green life. I have had numerous arguments with my husband over my ban on paper products in our home (I draw the line at toilet paper…we can wash napkins, we have real plates, cups, and utensils that can be reused. We washed cloth diapers & wipes. (FYI, with the cloth wipes our youngest only had a diaper rash once, in 2-1/2 years! I firmly believe that most rashes come from the disposable wipes).  And we don’t need paper…See More

Kids, Pets, & Life Lessons

Say hello to the newest member of our family, Angel!  Angel the Guinea pig has quickly found a soft spot in each of our hearts. In fact the first night in our home all 3 kiddos slept by the cage, it was precious. And for the first week our son slept next to the cage which resides in his room. He officially has a roommate! See, he has been begging for a roommate ever since we brought home our youngest daughter and the girls started sharing a room. He felt left out because mommy and daddy are…See More

Marriage is Hard!

Be honest, did the title of this post just totally blow your mind? I mean based upon all the fairytales I’ve read marriage is about living happily ever after. And happily ever after shouldn’t be hard or difficult, it should be natural and easy, right!? Wrong! My husband and I just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We received many congratulations and well wishes for the future which we both greatly appreciated but it was one statement, more like a label of us that really had me thinking.…See More

Sugar Binge

Easter is by far my most favorite time of the year. However there is one pesky little thing I could do without, sugar! During Lent we hold off on the sweets. We manage to go without the candy, cupcakes, cookies, etc. for 40 days (with the exception of a b-day party or two), 40 DAYS! And then in a single day we more than make up for all 40 days’ worth of sugar. And then it hits the system, HARD!Mom down! Seriously, Easter morning my stomach was aching from the sweets I had consumed the evening…See More
