As most of you know I am a huge advocate for living a sustainable and green life. I have had numerous arguments with my husband over my ban on paper products in our home (I draw the line at toilet paper…we can wash napkins, we have real plates, cups, and utensils that can be reused. We washed cloth diapers & wipes. (FYI, with the cloth wipes our youngest only had a diaper rash once, in 2-1/2 years! I firmly believe that most rashes come from the disposable wipes). Easter is by far my most favorite time of the year. However there is one pesky little thing I could do without, sugar! During Lent we hold off on the sweets. We manage to go without the candy, cupcakes, cookies, etc. for 40 days (with the exception of a b-day party or two), 40 DAYS! And then in a single day we more than make up for all 40 days’ worth of sugar. And then it hits the system, HARD!
