Rest In Peace Rehtaeh Parsons and the Conversation Too Late...

In the past, there were often stories in the news that would shake me to my core, leave me feeling helpless, disgusted and fearful for the world my children are being brought up in. I felt like I wanted to DO something. to SAY something, to grab a hold of humanity and give it a good hard shake. I may not have the widest reach in the world, the largest, most diverse demographic, but I have YOU. You're reading this and that's something. The subject of rape, social media and teenage behaviour have…See More

What do you blog about? {In your own words}
I am a stay at home mother of three, wife and aspiring blogger. I'm putting it all out there, sharing my views and experiences about motherhood, love and life. I'm not an expert, I have no hidden agenda and am not pushing any extreme point of view about anything. I am as "middle of the road" as you can get about most things, and it seems to me that this is a quality lacking in today's society of information, Internet and media saturation pushing people to take hard stances on complex and multi-layered issues. I approach most aspects of my life with an open mind, including parenting, and hope that this translates throughout my posts and other publications. Thank you for taking the time to stop in and get to know me better, add me to your circle and I look forward to hearing your feedback!

Megan, PPD is very common for many moms. I struggled with this with my first two children. Luckily for me, it only lasted a month both times.

After my second child was born, he was 12 days old when we sold our house, my husband changed jobs and moved to a new place where we knew no one. There I was with a toddler and newborn, all alone.

Fortunately, I contacted a nurse at the hospital where my kids were born and she probably talked to me on the phone every other day for those months. It helped to hear that what I was feeling was 'very normal.'

Thanks for sharing your personal story! :)
