- After 12 years of struggling with infertility I found myself pleasantly, and unexpectedly surprised by my pregnancy. At 35, upon giving birth to our beautiful daughter, I was finally, legitimately, able to enter the world of Mommy Blogging. It took me just over a year to wrap my mind around how to continue to have a life of my own while being a Mum to an infant on the verge of being a toddler, and here we are! And so, four days after my daughter’s first birthday, I started Pardon My Poppet – Pip Squeaks from the Mummy-verse!
We currently reside in Guelph, Ontario, but have moved many times since we married (including a stint in Oklahoma). My blog, Pardon My Poppet ~ Pip Squeaks from the Mummy-verse! features day-to-day family life, parenting, recipes, reviews and giveaways. Little thoughts, or complaints, or “Pip Squeaks” that come to mind will be shared in abundance! Hope you enjoy spending time in the orbit of my Mummy-verse!
When I’m not blogging and giving my honest opinion about things I LOVE, you can find me gallivanting around social media sites, or cooking, yum! I’m a proud housewife and stay at home mom who’s made peace with this techie world! How did we ever raise our kids before Google?

This is not a scientifically backed up study, just personal experience. We have bought many cars in our 15 years of marriage (and I had bought 3 before we were married). One way we save money is to NEVER buy new. We buy a vehicle that is 2-3 years old and save on the vast depreciation that occurs in those first few years.
Another thing we do is look for a car that might have slightly higher kilometers. Not hugely, but just a little. This allows us more room to negotiate. We also…

I am thankful for a reliable vehicle
I remember the days when we couldn’t afford a car that had any type of warranty, let alone even a guarantee it would run. Often they would have the strong smell of a previous smoker, and the kind of feeling that you’d want to shower each time you got out of it. I am thankful that we have been blessed enough to be able to have a few cars now that are pretty much guaranteed to start when you turn the key!
