A Mom Blog Social Network
Murphy’s law… really just a series of unfortunate coincidences.
The concept of Murphy’s Law, as most know it, states simply that what can go wrong, inevitably will. Now if you have a sense of humor, you learn to roll with the punches (if you’ll pardon the cliche), and let situational irony and unfortunate coincidences just roll off your back. If you’re a mom, you have no choice. So when I came across a blog post titled Murphy’s Law for Moms on a thrifty, nifty blog titled Raising Arrows, I could totally relate. Plus it was just adorable. But you see,…

On Life & Childhood Dreams: Something I Learned After Many Years
{Original post: Green Eggs & Moms}

In our defense, kids have been known to be fickle about their aspirations, so who can blame…

Wordful Wednesday: Inaugural Camping Trip
So, most of you know, I had been looking for a tent trailer for quite a while.
Well, after several failed attempts, and many hours spent scouring Craigslist, I found one.
I truly believe my five-year old thinks it is HIS.
As in, I let you sleep in my trailer, Mom (and clean it. and prep it. and fill it. and tow it.).
I joined a group of friends this past weekend for a fun-filled maiden…

Jackie Is Now An Official Bike Rider
This is a huge accomplishment for my little girl. And I am one proud mom.
Up until last year, Jackie didn't seem too interested in riding on 2 wheels. She was happy with her bike with training wheels and so was I. I just wasn't ready to risk her incurring more injuries even though she does wear a bike helmet. About a year and a half ago, T bought Jackie a Princess bike after she outgrew the toddler bike. The training wheels on this new bike were set so that she would get the hang of…

How college prepared me for motherhood
http://psychmama11.blogspot.com/2012/03/how-college-prepared-me-for-motherhood.html
I've joked about this a lot, but I really am serious when I say it! College is not simply a place where you go to learn subject material from professors...it is where you go to learn about the "real world." So I have decided to compile a list of 8 ways that college and grad school…

Vintage Trunk Makeover- Before & After- For My Baby Girl's Nursery!
Kalia's vintage nursery is the first house decor project I put all my effort into and I love the way it turned out!
One of the last additions to her room and probably the easiest project I worked on was painting a vintage trunk to use as additional storage in her room. The hard part was finding a vintage trunk I liked!
Some points I was a stickler on-
1) Smell- all vintage, antique items will have some sort of odor to them, but I did not want one that…

Learning To Use A List
List are not a new concept for me, of course, I use a grocery list or general shopping list. But that has been the extent of my success with using list. The list I am talking about are house hold cleaning to do list, project to do list, routine list. It would start with the best of intentions, yet by day 2 I would be lucky if I could find the list. Sometimes it was because I exhausted myself on the first day that I did not CARE where the list was.
Fast forward to ..... the pass…

Healthy Puffed Rice Carob Krispies
Sunday morning was another one of those "Holly Homemaker" mornings! As my son played in the family room (bouncing away to the Wiggles on the Ipad) I was preparing tomato sauce, focaccia, and some puffed rice bars for breakfast this week. I was so wrapped up in my cooking fiasco that I didn't notice that it was snack-time! Of course, I could have just grated some fruit or opened a box of cheerios, but instead I was inspired to make a baby-friendly version of my favourite treat, to which I…

Staying Sober, Day 1
Today I made the biggest decision of my life - to stop drinking. To stop drinking totally and for good. I won't pretend it's been easy, even though I am only 18 hours into my sobriety. In fact, it's been hell. I shake, am tearful and have sunken into a depression through my craving for Alcohol already. I wasn't always an…
