Football's not coming home!

So, it turns out that football’s not coming home.

The Ever Elusive Strawberry Eater

We have a serious problem in our house.

Someone sneaks into our house, past the dog, past my husband and I, and past the kids... to take bites out of the strawberries in the fridge.

I have yet to catch this person. The rumor in our house is that the person's name is Not Me. I have no confirmation of this yet, nor a description to give to the police.

Just a little recap and I’m done. I swear.

I promise — no more talking, writing, or dreaming about running the ½ marathon after today.

But now, simple truths and happy surprises from this Sunday:

* 21.1 kilometers is really far. I’d like to meet the Einstein that thought this would be a fun jaunt…except it was fun. Hard too, but that’s what training is for. To mentally prepare for the self-torture you willingly put yourself through.

D-Day or race day, whichever

This is it. 48 hours from now I’ll be mid-race. I can’t decide if I’m nervous, excited or about to throw up. It’s probably equal parts of all three.

One moment I’m sure I can do this; I know my zone and once in it, it’s a comfortable place to be. Moments later I doubt my readiness. That’s normal, right?

Cavalia’s Odysseo – I was there for the horses. Really.
