I cleaned the living room spotless. I cleaned the kitchen..spotless. Now, I just stand around with that "the f*#k?!?!" look on my face. I actually cleaned the kitchen yesterday
. Like, yesterday evening
. Sometimes, I think I must be stupid. I can't think of anything else I would fix over and over and over again,… Continue

I'm writing this really late. Forgive typos, run-ons, or shit that just doesn't make sense. I'll clean it up tomorrow!
Today, I have decided to address some things regarding military wives. I don't say too much about being a military wife..because I am my own person. I know, I know--my name refers to me being a housewife, so why not military wife? Because, overall, I mostly write about being a housewife. And that brings me to the first thing Id like to address!

I'm sure every mama out there thinks about their child's grey matter. No, I'm not talking about some weird diaper of poop. I'm talking about their noggin. I'm sure you will agree that we want our children to do well in school. If your child isn't old enough you are probably wondering what we can do at home to prepare them for school.

Yes, this is an AWESOME wedding gift (if I do say so myself), and no... not just because mom and I thought it up.
So I couldn't go to one of my best high school girlfriend, E, 's bridal shower, but I wanted to send her something that wasn't just a "pick such and such off the registry and send it" sort of thing. THIS is what we came up with; which is PERFECT since I LOVE to cook.

I hate being outdone by other moms. I don't really consider myself competitive but when it comes to being a mom, I don't like not being able to do things that come so easily to other women (except giving birth without pain meds... I could give a darn about wanting to be as tough as other women... give me the flippin IV STAT!!!). My friend is constantly posting all these yummy things she makes for her kids, like home made granola bars. She gave me the recipe from allrecipes but I had no idea… Continue

We have all known one.
Heck, we might have even been one at one point in time, to a certain extent.
But this post is about those incessant, annoying, nosey-as-all-get-out, pregnancy know it all's.
They drive me batty!
Well.. battier than I already am.
My main problem with pregnancy know it all's?
By some grace of cosmic forces, in existence only to give us pregnant women a laugh and to prevent the… Continue

The girls. Mommy's Mammaries. My ta-ta's. Poncho and Lefty.
I could continue but I'm sure you get the point.
I was 'blessed' at an early age with well endowment upstairs. I use the term blessed loosely because they can be both a blessing and a curse.
The curse being during 8th grade through senior year: dealing with pubescent teenage boys making lunch time games out of attempting to throw various items down my shirt. Oh, and let us not forget the neverending… Continue

It is back to school time and I have seen several times on the news about Safety and brown bagging it...As we change our lifestyle so does our family. Many of the foodies pack their lunch and their kids lunch (we don't want to give them the junk in school cafeterias) so I felt the need to address the safety issues in brown bagging it...
A standard rule of food safety is to keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot until it is time to eat them. Temperatures between 40 degrees and 140 degrees.… Continue

I have been asked countless times, especially since being pregnant, "are you guys going to have more kids?". Fuck no! That is my canned response. Their automatic assumption leads to their next question of "Oh! So, are you going to get your tubes tied when you have this one?". Fuck no. That is my canned response.
First of all, why is the default assumption… Continue

When it comes to parenting, there are quite a few hot button issues. One of those issues is...are you ready for this?? HARNESSES. I have read a million and one of these debates and always end up mentally giving 75% of participants the Are You Really That Stupid?? look. Still, I have learned a LOT from these debates and I'm here to share it with you, bulletin style. (Read on after the jump.) My… Continue

I was reminded last night by the mother of one of my son’s friends, of what an amazing person he really is. It made my heart smile, which made me realize this needed to be the focus of my latest post. My son is not a fan of chores, as I would imagine most kids are not. Taking out the trash always involves… Continue

It's a dirty job, but, unfortunately, somebody's gotta do it. And this weekend? Well, I was the one who got stuck being the bad cop. Cause short people lying straight to my face is just not something that I take too lightly.
It all went down on Sunday, which was an unfortunate flurry of activity around here with the kids coming off the high… Continue

I am going to miss Oprah this fall. Sure she got preachy over the years and some of her interviews were more about her than anything else; like when she would ask an uber-celebrity "can you imagine getting this kind of standing ovation everyday?" But damn it I loved my Oprah show and loved knowing it was on everyday at 4 p.m. Continue

As I have confessed here a number of times, I haven’t always been able to write. Well, I’ve always been able to write, I just didn’t have any confidence in my writing abilities. When I was working in the corporate world, if I was required to write a letter, I would procrastinate for days until I made myself sit down at my computer and write.

It's been a question I've asked for quite some time now, probably ever since the Farmer and I got together. You see my husband is pretty useless in the house. He doesn't seem to understand that fairies don't really exist (sorry to disappoint you) and that washing, cleaning, cooking, you know, all those chores that need to be done regularly, are actually done by a person.

I've been writing about my adventures in weaning my almost two year old daughter from da Boob. It's her most favorite thing ever! She gets so excited when I whip that sucker out. She loves it so much that she will volunteer "more boo boo peess mama" (translation - more boob please mama) without any coaching from me. I started the process of weaning her about two weeks ago starting with the middle of the night feedings. Things were going pretty good. By the end of that first week I could say… Continue
