Trips Down Memory Lane
It's nearly 11 PM and I have course can't sleep. At 2:05 AM it will officially be a year since my sweet little Mason man was born. Wow. A whole year has gone by. Some days it seems like he was born last week, most days though it seems like we have had him forever. It's amazing how you forget what life was like before this miniature human entered your world. I honestly was so excited about him turning one.…

Once again, I've compiled a list of some of the odd discoveries I've made recently. Included is the realization that trying to reason with a tired child is about as productive as arguing with a drunk. Click over to my blog to read the full list:…

Dude, Come on: Mommy's Law
So today I am going to discuss Mommy's Law... its kind off like Murphy's Law, but only for Mommy's (Just in case you needed me to explain that). Either Way, you know what I'm talking about. Those moments that you just sit back and think "Like,Really?"
I have had several of those moments today, yesterday, and all the days of being a…

Mommy Dearest Takes On Golden Girl in the Nocturnal Battle of the Century
Moderator: Well, it’s not every day we get to announce that a world heavyweight championship fight is being broadcast live from California - right in some one's bedroom, but we’re sure happy to be doing it today. Mommy Dearest and Golden Girl are taking their feuds to a new level, as the ladies will go head-to-head, both at bedtime.
HBO Commentator Lennox Lewis: So we’re thrilled to be part of this event, and we look forward to a…

Happiness Is Hard
There's something incredibly empowering about deciding to take control of your life. I'm not talking about packing your things and disappearing in the middle of the night for some wild mid-life crisis escapade. I'm talking about making a conscious decision to change your life for the better.
Everyone has their own personal albatross. Whether it's weight, a bad job, a crummy relationship or toxic people - everyone has something they are battling. Even the people who seem…

Gynecology Gone Wild!
The yearly trip to the gynecologist is a necessary evil. Going to the gynecologist with two children in tow brings the entire experience to a whole new level of hideous.
Here was my sleep deprived insanity logic into deciding to bring them along:
It's a 5 minute appointment. How bad could it be, really? I'll just set them up with something to watch on my phone. They won't even notice what's going on. Oooh! Look! There's a bird in my yard! Did I flip the laundry…

Crying On Your Kids First Day of Kindergarten Is For Suckers
I sent my baby off to kindergarten yesterday. For weeks I was warned how emotionally draining this was going to be for me. And how I would probably cry because it was going to be so hard. I wasn't sure what to expect; Lena has been in some form of daycare/school since she was 8 weeks old and I returned to work. She went to transitional kindergarten last year because she was too young for "real" kindergarten but too smart (aka bored = chatterbox) for only a few days a week preschool. It…

Belly Diaries: Week 20: Halfway There
Poor E. We found out this week that he's officially outnumbered 3 to 1. My premonition from March came true: this little kicking babe is a girl. He said he won't be worried unless the NEXT one is a girl, too. (HAHAHA, the next one. He must mean in about 10…

Our Home School Room
Ever since we started homeschooling, I've given lots of thought to our school room. We actually didn't have a dedicated space to home school. And since our decision to home school happened very quickly, we were totally unprepared. What we had was an office/playroom. We moved some toys out of the playroom to make room for a bookshelf and a seating area. I really just wanted space for our books and other materials. We spent our first year of homeschooling doing "school" wherever we found…
