Electronics and Kids: Are we introducing too much too soon?
When I was a kid, we didn't have computers or cell phones or iPads. We had
video games, but I wasn't allowed to play them. When I was a kid we played with
toys, real toys, not electronics. I realize that times are changing, but I
think that we, as a nation, are trying to make our kids more like little adults
rather than letting them be kids.
I was in Wal-Mart the other day
buying a Barbie for my daughter's birthday; she was turning six years old. As I…

Get Your Hair Wet
Every time I take the boys swimming at our gym I am faced with a decision. Should I get my hair wet?
That decision alone determines how involved my level of play will be with my boys. If I am willing to get my hair wet I am totally submersed in their play. I will go down waterslides, play tag in the lazy river and shoot hoops with them. But if I am not in the mood to get my hair wet. It means I will tip toe thru the water observing them playing from…

Baby's First Visit at the Restuarant
Up until a few months ago it seemed almost impossible to enjoy a night out with friends. But now that our son has grown a little and eats practically everything, the time may have come to take him out for the first time for dinner to a restaurant or pizzeria. It is important to maintain good contacts with…

Life In An Instant
Taking pictures has been a hobby for as long as I can remember. I’m not a pro or anything, but it’s something I truly enjoy. I remember the smile on my face when I took this picture on a small beach in Loiza, Puerto Rico. We literally stumbled upon it during one of our “let’s get lost” excursions. It was so…

Why NEVER to Google your X's name....Coping with termination as a Man
First, the good news...I am a successful parent of 3 lovely children (2 grown up) and run a list of my own businesses. I get up when I want (except on Wednesdays when I am rudely awaken by the dustman...). I have over 6 figures in the bank, look pretty good for my age, have been told I'm 'sexy' (strange description for a man I think, but I'll take it nonetheless) with a lovely voice, good friends, lots of toys and I want for nothing.
Now the bad. Except I want for everything...I…

My bad. Not empty...just seeking.
I mentioned just yesterday how empty I felt. Not down or depressed. Just empty. And I found it ironic I could feel that way despite the fact that each morning I spend time with God.
How is it possible to feel empty when you know your relationship with Him is as close as its’ ever been?
How can you even think you’re still in need of something…when He’s right there?
How does it…

Following on from yesterdays blog 'A Box of My Life (Up to 2011)' some people have suggested that I should try and predict or think about what I would like the additional five items to be put in 'My Life Box' in 10 years time.
So here goes, this would be my wish list…

Fall Favorite: Chanel lllusion d'Ombre Ebloui and Laura Mercier Cocoa Caviar Eye Stick
I wanted to take a break from the bright lips, matte nude eye look and decided to use one of my current favorite pairings yesterday for Thanksgiving.
Chanel Ebloui cream eyeshadow (a burgundy brown, looks more brown then burgundy on me) and …

Balancing Work and Family
As much as I'd like to be a full time stay at home mom, I can't afford to be. My mom was one and I loved having her home and there for me and my brother whenever we needed her. In these trying and uncertain economic times, families everywhere are doing all that they can to stretch their pennies as far as possible to feed their families, pay their bills and support all their needs. Sadly many families all around the world and even in America, are falling short....
