A Mom Blog Social Network
Today began just like any other day...I woke up late (though it was to my favorite 6 year old jumping on my saying "today is momma's birthday"), got up and got on the train and went to work. Went through my normal day, until 1/2 hour before I was supposed to leave when my boss decided he wanted to meet with me. New position/ new boss, so I didn't tell him that I was planning on leaving early and went to meet with him. Of course the meeting ended about 5 minutes before my train, so I ran…

Decorating Light Fixtures For The Holidays
Domestic Life on the Hills Dale Home Front
I have a great way to showcase special/breakable Christmas ornaments so that they are very visible and not lost among those on the Christmas tree. I hang them from light fixtures. This is a great solution because they look beautiful and are high enough to be out of my toddler's reach.…

A Dairy-Free Christmas: Soy Nog
Dairy and egg-free soy nog! No way! Over the past couple weeks I have been experimenting with various soy nog recipes. We've tried banana as a thickening agent (too much banana flavour). We've tried tofu (too gritty no matter how much it's blended). Then we tried making it with a coconut milk. BINGO! I finally concocted a soy nog recipe that my whole family loves.…

I've been battling getting caught up in the commercialism of Christmas (hey, don't judge me... there's nothing wrong with enjoying gift giving and happiness and an excuse to bring families closer together) and keeping in mind the true reason for why we celebrate Christmas. I've also been trying to teach my children what Christmas is all about: Jesus' birthday. Today, while trying to think of how to explain it better to my kids, my thought wandered to the Virgin Mary. I've thought about her…

Today was our first preschool field trip, and we went to Sanrio Puro Land, possibly the cutest place on earth :)
Of course preparation began yesterday with none other than laundry! Yosei's uniform was so muddy it needed and actual washing with the washing machine (I don't know how he managed that in a day). The blazed had to be put into a delicates net; good thing too, turns out Yosei had filled his pockets with sand so when I pulled it out of the net sand was falling out all over…

The end of the Beginning, Part 2
Day 3,
So, another restless night although I am starting to feel slightly less angry about SW's blogs.. It looks like she might be about to make a change in the error of her ways but we'll see. Perhaps it's all a ruse for me to not publish the real facts of our relationship and the details of the termination – which this blog is really all about.
So the next 20 years? Well I don't want to bang on about sex, drugs and rock n' roll in the usual manner. Suffice to say I had a…

So she's stopped blogging then? I'm just warming up...Oh no, guess what , she has changed her mind,, well I never
OK, 2 hour daily morning panic attack over, masses of coffee consumed and all work done. I can't go to the gym as I went yesterday for the first time since August (and now ache more than a one legged marathon runner...)
So there you go.. My X had an abortion because she was unhappy in her work and instead of seeing it as a wonderful occasion, used it as her way out of the rat race and fulfil her fairy-tale and become a full time writer! When her demands were not met, she moved on…

Listen up husbands! It matters when you are late.
How often have you told your stay at home husband/wife/partner, "I'll be home at 6pm" and then at around 6:20pm called or texted or skyped to let them know that you are 'just now stepping out of the office to head home'? Once a week? Once a month? More? Or worse yet, do you wait until your significant other calls YOU 30 minutes after you should have arrived only so that you can tell them you didn't have 30 seconds to step out of a meeting to inform them you'd be an hour…

Seven Years and I am still trying to figure out Mommyhood
Seven years ago today my oldest was born. I was 26 years old, I had a baby and then the hospital, unbeknownst to them, sent two people home with a newborn who had no clue what they were supposed to be doing. I remember crying the first two days because I was worried that I would be a terrible mother. This emotion was probably due to the fact that I did not sleep the first two nights home for fear that he would stop breathing. And I am not even going to go into the amount of stress I had…

Well, I'm back from....I can't really give you a explanation...because my life always closely resembles the world famous Groundhog Day!!!!
Of coarse I've thought about different things to write about, because naturally, I always have a story in my head, I haven't exactly made it to putting my fingers on the keyboard.
This past week was BUSY to say the least. I'm always excited for…
