The loss of a child
There was a recent tragedy in my fair province.
A young boy, eating dinner out at a patio restaurant with his family was mowed down by an alleged drunk driver. Alleged. Here’s the link.

The tragedy of this case is far too important…

Traveling With A Toddler: Cruel and Unusual Punishment
Traveling with a toddler is brutal, especially alone. You would have thought I learned my lesson after this debacle, but apparently not. That's the thing with kids, you always give them second chances because you are blinded by love.

The last time I flew alone with my son, I swore I would never do it again. That was nine months ago. So he's changed, right? He would listen…

A Dad’s Guide to Recognizing Early Labor

It is important to be prepared so that you know exactly what to do when your wife or significant appears to be in labor. Dating Drama Overheard
I love it when I overhear a good conversation. In this case, I was in a waiting room when I overheard the receptionist talking about her dating drama. She was a cute girl that looked to be in her mid-twenties. She was talking to an older lady who had referenced recently seeing the girl’s mother. They seemed on a pretty familiar level and the lady asked her what was happening in her love life.
The girl sighed and said she had been dating someone “but he was a liar.” She went on to…

Road Trip!
It was a simple quest.
Andrew and I were going to take a relatively quick 5 1/2 hour road trip to the Capital District so we could get India from college for the summer.
But someone had decided her van wouldn't make the 30° grade of the Driveway From Hell over the winter and parked it. Not in the barn on the hill, where it would be protected. Nooo. I parked her in the driveway and let her sit - under 3 feet of snow…

Fruit Crisps, Crumbles And Cobblers

Crumbles, Crisps and Cobblers are simple old-fashioned desserts that offer the comfort of fruit pies but without the work of making a pie crust. Cobblers have a softer biscuit-like topping and texture, while crumbles and crisps have a crunchy, streusel-like topping that provides a contrast to the soft fruit in the filling.
Early settlers of America were very good at improvising. When they first arrived, they brought their…

Happy Birthday to my Dearest Camryn
My Dearest Camryn,
Happy birthday my sweet baby girl. You are the love of my life and you have filled my heart where it was empty. This past year has been a tough one. You've really tested the strength of your Father and I. I remember the first time I got to see you, three and a half days after you were born, I just couldn't believe it. You were perfect. It was just such a miracle. From the very beginning you've been a fighter. Even through sleepless nights you knew just what…

My Baby Loves Our Dog.
I talk a lot about how much Ricky loves Lucy. And by that I mean my baby loves my dog like nothing else. I don’t see him light up so much over anything but her – and she lets him climb all over her like a jungle gym. She reminds me of Nana in the movie Peter Pan. Check it out:...Continue reading and watching at The Mommyhood Project
