I'm not sure what has gotten into me, but I've been in a particularly crafty mood as of late. I blame the week and a half of rain... Regardless, I have been searching around my house for items to either re-purpose or update. It's amazing what a difference some scrapbook paper and some paint can do to boring,…Continue

How much do you share about your private life?
As bloggers, many of us record our daily lives on an, almost, daily basis. Our thoughts, personal happenings and even photographs. It’s part of our blogging life – it comes with the job description. And, to be honest, this is what attracted me to the ‘blogging world’ in the first place. However, I’m sure that every blogger has a secret life outside of blogging. There are parts…Continue

A Bright and Shiny smile is a wish for the young and old. Your own teeth may be a little dull looking. You have clean, healthy teeth but you wish they were several shades whiter. A confident smile expresses capability and…Continue

Snoring is usually not something we are very concerned about, unless our sleep mate is causing a disruption to your sleep. But, did you know that frequent, loud snoring m ay be a sign of something more serious than keeping your partner up during the night. This could be a sign of sleep apnea (also known as …Continue

It's morning, you're in a rush, and you're craving carbs but want to eat sensibly. Do you grab toast, a croissant, or a muffin at a coffee shop? Consumer Reports’ experts rated the nutrition of nine breakfast breads and found the winner was whole-wheat bread, which rated very good for nutrition, with 110 calories, a half-gram of fat, and 5 grams of fiber per slice.
Worst of all, with a nutrition rating of poor, was a…Continue

First – let me wish a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing hubby. He’s 29 – almost to that big 3-0! If you want to wish him a happy birthday, you can tweet him @dreamexteriors.
So moving on…I’m 31 weeks pregnant. I had to think about that for a minute – I keep forgetting how far along I am. These days I go more by the weeks left til d-day than the weeks we are along. Speaking of which, the bean is officially considered…Continue

I was beyond excited to find myself down two pounds after recently returning from Vegas. So how did I lose weight on vacation? I found the middle ground between "Hey it's vacation, I''ll do whatever I feel like!" and overly restricting myself to the point where I didn't enjoy the trip. (Believe me I've done both.)
This was really an experiment. In the past, I've traveled to Vegas, eaten and drank everything under the sun, and I came back the same weight I left. Soooo I thought to…Continue

I wish that this post was about doing Yoga and me giving you tips on what to do. Or really anything fitness related at all. But let's be real. The only exercise I get is walking to and from the pantry.
Lately at night I've been walking into K's room
okay a few times to make sure she's okay and still on the bed.
She's in a "big girl" room now with a "big girl" bed. Which she loves because it's all hers and she sprawls out. Which brings me to why I now go…Continue

It's only been two weeks since going to therapy but I've picked up a lot of information and probably useless knowledge along the way.
Allow me to share with you:
#1. When your therapist tells you that you need a support group the appropriate answer would not be "I can start drinking and become an alcoholic then join AA?".
#2. It is, in fact, okay to lose your shit every now and then.
#3. It IS all about you. Remember when your parents would tell you "The…Continue
When my sons were toddlers, they were precious and I loved spending time with them whether we were racing toy cars on the living room rug or curled up together to read a story before bedtime. Born just 15 months apart, our blonde-haired, blue-eyed munchkins were so undemanding that you’d have thought that my husband and I would have better anticipated the shocking transformation that took place when they both became teenagers.
Until this point our children never needed an…

I'm usually quite health conscious when it comes to preparing meals for the family, however, I'm
going to turn a blind eye going to admit it, loud and clear, that this isn't necessarily the "lightest" or healthiest meal. I mean, potatoes are healthy and a small amount of cheese (or lard) never hurt anyone, right?! In my defence, the Italians eat like this all the time...and they don't seem to have issues with their weight like us North Americans do!
Anyway, back to the…Continue

Bloggers can be notoriously bad when it comes to sitting in front of a screen all day. There are blog posts to read, comment on, and write. Social media networks to check via phone, tablet, or computer.
All those hours contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, which can shorten our lifespans. All those social media networks, and all those mobile gadgets just mean more time sitting and less time moving
One of our favorite new social networks is Pinterest. While you may have just…Continue
