Mentally, I get home fried from work. Love it, I am so busy. But, when I get home my energy is high enough to only see and play with the kid after being picked up from daycare and once we get to eat something at dinner time, my body just goes into zombie mode.
I have so much to do for me! - I keep hearing in the back of my head. I'm at a point in my life that I am finding different interests and the curiosity to explore them is in front of me.
But the reality is,…

Sometimes letting go of things in our lives can be difficult. I don't think that's a newsflash for any of us. It can be difficult to let go of things we perceive as having been…

...myself for spending too much money for the holidays. Again.
I love buying presents for people I know, especially if I find the perfect gift. I believe in giving a lot of thought to gifts, and while I don't always give material items, I do give what I think the person will want the most.…Continue

Going along with the Santa theme, my husband and I try to have fun giving the kids their presents from Santa.
One year, we bought a bike ride for the car. It was a Santa present to the entire family. But neither my dear husband or I wanted to put the present under the tree. For one thing, it wouldn't fit. For another, well, sometimes the fun is in the journey.…Continue
At the end of November, I joined a website called Bloggy Moms because I liked the look of their community. Here I found the December Blog Dare - a dare to write blog posts every day of December with convenient writing prompts for each day. While I have more than enough opinions to write every day, I liked the prompts so I joined the Blog Dare and began.
This worked well for the first 3 days. I wrote my opinions and I read…Continue

Why, you ask?
Because - here's the spoiler - Santa Claus is a legend. A tall tale. A mythical figure based loosely on the work of Saint Nicholas, the…Continue

I realize I'm dreaming about my childhood. While Georgia is technically far enough north for snow, living in metro Atlanta we rarely see the powdery white. Instead we get ice storms that cover the outside world in anywhere from paper-thin layers of ice to half an inch of ice.
In fact, we get so little snow that when a friend of mine's kids built a teeny tiny snowman (maybe 5 inches tall) to show their far-away relatives, their grandmother asked, "So, where's the…Continue

I have been thinking about my blog for over a week.. I wanted it to be positive and uplifting but I realized that it is anything but.. It comes off as condemning and judgmental.. No one said this to me, in all honesty I have received nothing but support and encouragement.. But the more I read some of my more popular posts, the less I feel good about them.. …Continue

I'm on Twitter, a lot.
I signed up for my Twitter account in 2010 via my BlackBerry Curve smartphone. I quickly became addicted to sending out tweets and soon after, began growing my followers. Now, I'm not a Twitter specialist, but in about a year, after networking, putting my personality into my messages and being kind enough to retweet others, I reached…Continue
