On Tuesday, it was my Brother in Laws 20th birthday and after seeing my previous attempt at making my Sons 1st Birthday Cake my Sister got it in her head that we should attempt to make him a fire truck cake. (He's a volunteer firefighter)
I started to Google different ideas and came across this fantastic tutorial over at…

My first try on making cake pops was not all too fabulous. Watching it online made me feel like it was going to be a breeze, but when I saw the ingredients on my own table, there were suffice to say some second (and third and fourth) thoughts about the whole thing.

...Some of our extra-curricular activities started this week. History Kid and Tiny Dancer both joined a new FIRST Lego League team a homeschool friend of ours started. Gymnastics started back up for History Kid too. After a summer off, he was very happy to get back. For fun, we had a Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs party to celebrate the end of our horribly boring weather unit. We watched the movie and ate meatball subs. We also used the opportunity to make and eat a giant…Continue
Happy Friday! I’m SO glad it’s Friday because it has been a long week. But, at the same time, I still have lots to do before I can embrace the weekend and relax. Tomorrow is Keenan’s birthday party, so we are heading to my parents after he wakes up from his nap this afternoon, to get things set-up and start prepping some of the food. Keenan’s birthday menu includes: guacamole, salsa and chips for appetizers, grilled chicken, Artichoke Torta, grilled peach salad, fruit and bread (fresh…Continue

It’s super easy to make and starts with a Betty Crocker boxed cake mix! It’s a fun project for grandparents and grandchildren to create and use their imagination to decorate!… Continue

Fall is really here now. The air is crisp and cool and it doesn't warm up too much during the day – just enough to make it comfortable to be outside. I LOVE weather like this.…Continue

I have it on good authority (my mom) that this is one of the best cakes you will ever bake. She has just baked it and called me to tell me to bake it right away. I have one in the oven, because, as we all know, I’m a very obedient daughter. Of course I hung up the phone and started mixing! Mama…
