How to Make All Things New in 2013
Happy 2013. New Year’s Day is a time of renewal and “do-overs”. We eat our black eyed peas for good luck, write our "New Year's" lists and send off our recurring "New Year's" resolutions up with a prayer and some smoke or in a bottle or whatever it is you do every new year hoping that this will finally be the year that it happens. We…

Christmas Photo Shoot 2012
My tree topper…I am in love with her. Todd bought her for me when we were first married. I fell in love with her because she has brown hair and the most delicate dress and wings. The star is a new addition this year. I needed a star above the manger and it fit the bill. It’s actually a tree…

Not your typical Gingerbread House (cardboard Box Fun)
Hi there! I wanted to share with you a craft I made with my munchkin this week while getting in the Christmas spirit. My munchkin wanted a gingerbread house but theres a problem.... He doesnt like gingerbread or any candy unless its chocolate!
So I had to think of a way to get him a house to play with without being wasteful of food that would never get eaten. There I created a cardboard gingerbread House! Check out my tutorial here:…

Christmas Morning Bubble Bread Recipe
Bubble Bread has been a holiday tradition in our family for as long as I can remember. It's as much of a part of Christmas for our family as the tree and it just wouldn't be the same without it. It's such a delicious treat after opening presents and is so easy to throw together on Christmas Eve and is ready…

The Divine Inception

A little over 2,000 years ago the Father placed his hand on the Son’s shoulder.
”It is time.”
It was time to lay aside his divinity. His omniscience. His omnipotence. Time to set in motion the plan to redeem mankind. That men (and women) might enjoy the relationship with the Father that he’d intended since before he set the foundations of the earth in place.
The Son looked into his Father’s eyes, then wrapped…

Best Christmas Gifts Ever!
So, the big day is finally here! Christmas day is looming large on us and every body is excited.Including me! I should mention I am having a tough time wrapping up all the gifts "from Santa to K&K this year" since Kevin is hovering around me all the time. I flatly refused Kevin to go to the basement at all because I have hidden most of the toys in there. You know what I am saying, it is really tough to keep up the Christmas spirit by not spoiling…

Christmas Eve is like a mixed tape in our family.
Candlelight flickered and cast a warm glow inside the old log house. Dinner was long finished and the remnants tucked away for another day. The children were scrubbed clean, cozy in their pyjamas and eagerly awaiting the arrival of St. Nick. A candle burnt too low, stuttered and went out. “Maman, you have to find another candle.” The mother, prepared for this eventuality, placed a fresh candle to join the flickering lights of the others on the Christmas tree.
A pine tree. With…

Are You on the Potato List?
The girls have been telling us that if you are naughty you will end up on the potato list. I asked the girls what happens if I get my name on the potato list. I was then told that I would get a potato for Christmas instead of presents. Let’s hope that Santa thinks I have been good, I don’t want to get on the potato list!
Goodness knows where this idea of the potato list came…
