WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS GOD THINKING!?!?
Come on, we have ALL went there a time or few in our lives. You know, the time when something unexpected happens out of blue or when you look at certain family members behavior and try to convince yourself you were adopted. Yes, those times :) You may not say it out loud, but our hearts proclaim it over and over again. Doubt screams it the loudest.
I can loo…

"I have found the piece [of silver] which I lost!" Lk 15:9 NKJV
Today's post is not written by me. My daughter brought home a daily tract from Destiny World Church in Austell, GA, for me over the Thanksgiving Holiday. It truly ministered to me this morning and I wanted to share it.
Christ's next parable was about a pice of lost silver: "What woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she…

We Fell in Love in a Hopeless Place....
Today, as so many other bloggers are doing, I’m remembering the faithful day when my world was consumed with images of death, fire, and fury. On September 11, 2001 I was in Rhode Island waiting to take the bus with my mother to our place of employment. On this particular day we noticed two men walking extremely fast coming from where we don’t know, only to disappear around a busy corner. What I do…

Vogue Magazine Glorifies the Healthy Bodies of Athletes (YAY!)

If I were stranded on a desert island and only allowed to receive two magazines - those would be VANITY FAIR and VOGUE.
Between the two of these periodicals I always feel confidently up to date on pop culture,…

Owl Babies and Sun Dogs
Two weeks ago, Little E came into the world. The doctor placed her in my arms, and she looked up at me with those big, owl eyes. She whimpered softly and took in the world around her.
I remember last year before getting pregnant, Mark and I were out for a walk in the fall, and I was crying about the possibility of not having a baby. He told me that all the tears, grief, hope, that it was all part of the process - and that it would end with a baby in my arms. Hearing that gave…

Right after I blogged yesterday on my high speed stress train I've been on, I saw this post from Tyler Perry , who is one of my biggest inspirations as a writer. He's a writer, producer, actor and he is the highest paid man in Hollywood. He professes his faith in God in all his work and writing and that is not an easy thing to do in this…

11 Days of September Mommy Blogger 11-Part Series About Hope & Renewal in Memory of 9/11
September 11, 2001. There hasn't been a day since, when I don't remember how that long day of national tragedy felt. Like so many others, I was profoundly and forever changed by this unimaginable event in my life. For the 10th anniversary -- to express all the hope and renewal that has emerged from the ashes and tears -- I wrote an introductory 9/11 post and 11 more posts in an original series called …

This weekend I got completely enveloped in a wonderful book. There’s just nothing better than drinking peppermint tea, snuggling with my miniature pinscher and reading a heartwarming book – about dogs nonetheless! Ahhhh…it was a good weekend.

When the fog dissipated, I slipped comfortably back into my shoes and I felt present. A sense of calmness soon waved through my soul and my thoughts became still. It was within this peaceful quiet of my mind that I became acutely aware of my surroundings. It’s like the world around me had been painted like a new beautiful portrait; waiting for me to rediscover it all.
For when you live in the fog of postpartum depression you don’t notice…

I couldn't help but get swept up in the simple pleasure that my son was enjoying while playing out in his pool this weekend. The happiness that exploded from his soul was intoxicating as he splished and splashed and jumped.
Remember when happiness came that easily? Effortlessly?
I watched as he filled a bucket of water. He carefully and methodically walked from the poolside…
