Tribute to Bob and Bettye, dear friends in Christ

Jesus and coffee
Many experts will tell you the importance of starting your day with a good breakfast and while that may be true, I'm here to tell you of an even better way to kick off your morning. The best start to any day is...continue.

"The Bible"
The hubby and I watched the History Channel's "The Bible", over these last few weeks. I totally have to say that I enjoyed it. I have wondered how many folks tuned in each week? Which also makes me wonder what kind of people watched it each week? I have to say that I was quite amazed when I asked a few people at church and all said that they hadn't seen any of it. But on the same token the big tv show of topic was "Downton Abbey". I even noticed several of my more religious friends watched…

I have blogged before on how annoyed I am with Lily's kindergarten shoving religion down her throat. I know, I know, it's in the curriculum. But still, tell the kids the story and be done with it. Don't teach them the songs and don't tell them that this is the reason for celebration instead of one option some people (ok, approximately 1.3 billion people) celebrate these days.
Thanks to the kindergarten teacher's love for religious indoctrination of little children, Lily sang me a…

Kind Of Bossy... {1 Peter 5:3}
Beloved,
Who is the bossiest person you can think of? One of your kids? Your mother? A co-worker? My 5 year old is pretty gosh-darn bossy. …

Remembering Suicidal Thoughts
As a child, my mothers only child, I was belittle and degraded often. I look like my father. I was raised by a mother who never liked me. I’m sure she loved me in her own way and felt she did the best she could, but she never let me forget she did not like me or wanted me.
I remembered my mother and I were at my aunts house one afternoon with her daughter. They were teaching my cousin and I how to play Spades. A popular card game amongst African Americans. I laid the wrong card on the…

TWINS?!!!! Are you freaking kidding me?!
We had an appointment scheduled for my first sonogram. Claude appeared to be excited, I think it was because I was depressed, and wanted to bet I was having twins. He did not care. His actions showed that as time progressed. Claude and #4 kept telling me I was having twins. #4 wanted to have a ‘sick day’ so she…

zap me...NOW
Then there is the drive in the car if my husband decides to take one car. Lord help me. I won’t even go into detail about that. Let me just say, it’s the same complaints in a closed-in space. Added to that is #8′s weekly spelling words she likes to pretend ‘not to know’ in the car, because she’s tired of being drilled all night and every morning. #6 is rebelling because she can’t enjoy reading her book in the car. She is part of a book club now. #6 had difficulties reading early-on and…

Grandma ATTEMPTED to Strike Again.
Grandma strikes again! Grandma decided it was time to get #8's ears pierced. I was livid. #8 told me she was scared to tell me her ears were pierced because she knew she had to wait until she was 13 years old. My mother used to do this a lot. She believes, because I am on only child, she can usurp my husbands authority within our marriage, especially when it come to "her" grandchildren. Arguing with my mother does no good. In her mind she is 'practically perfect in every way'. She ain't no…

The devil will NOT stop me!
“I feel you do not appreciate the things I do for you. You do not understand the amount of money I spend to give you things you want.”, this is how my husband began our telephone conversation this morning. As he was speaking my head dropped and my eyes looked up, as I positioned myself to respond.

I love my Husband
In my mind: I purchased a house. Paid off my car. I was able to raise #4 without her becoming pregnant and/or using drugs. I went to work everyday. I graduated from college while raising 4 children alone. I was doing the dang thang. I was a WOMAN. Hear me roar. I was an idiot. I was so burnt…

Wives SUBMIT to YOUR Husband
I've been hearing Holy Spirit tell me "I don't trust God" as I should. Yesterday as I sat in my car during my lunch hour The Lord confirmed this.
The reason I'm questioning wives being treated as the weaker vessel is because:
For me: we have taken over boundaries originally meant to be covered by our husbands.
For me: we take over running the house. We take over the raising of the children. We take over the finances. We take over the daily activities of the…

How to Succeed in Business II
Dr. John Maxwell shared the following prayer with his friends at a recent birthday party: "Lord, as i grow older i think i want to be known as...thoughtful father than gifted, loving versus quick and bright, gentle versus powerful, a listener more than a great communicator, available rather than a hard worker,…

Successful Business Tip I
Today’s post is not written by me. It is a daily tract from Destiny World Church in Austell, GA. Photo from Google.

Sheep and cattle have to be handled differently. Sheep require tending. They need clear boundaries for their own protection, not to mention the shepherd’s potential loss if they are devoured by a wolf or fall off a cliff. Cattle do just fine when they’re given good grazing land and left alone. What’s the point? To fulfill our dream, you must…

Breaking Free
My reason for writing this today is to put an end to the thief stealing any progress I make in my marriage and family. The thief has many highlight reels he likes to show me during PMS, but today I put an end to this reel. I receive deliverance from all hurt and harm I experience whenever this reel is played on my mental movie screen. I receive the…

Fasting Scriptures III
When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. (Psalms 69:10 KJV)
My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. (Psalms 109:24 KJV)
Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. (Isaiah 58:4 KJV)
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and…
