A Mom Blog Social Network
I am a certified PINhead. That's right. My favorite addiction is Pinterest. Tonight, I realized I was up to Pin #1000. It may sound a little pathetic, but I wanted to post something meaningful. Blech, I know. I polled my friends and since I love music so…Continue

From the website, A Texan Grows in Brooklyn
What an amazing Mother’s Day! Lone Star Daddy woke up at the crack of dawn with Brooklyn Boy and made my favorite breakfast (scrambled eggs, ham and toast) while I indulged in a luxurious lie-in. Okay, maybe…Continue

I have had a lot of regrets throughout my life so far - wishing I had done things differently in raising my older kids, regretting all the hours I spent trying to make money from home when my kids were little…Continue

And I have to admit, I haven't really got to any of the hard stuff yet, like really explicit or violent games that she plays or wants to play but…
As I approach a higher number of followers, I've actually been getting some advertising requests from some work-at-home-moms. I am flattered and excited moms would chose my humble little blog for some ad space AND be willing to pay for it.
I will have ad space available when I reach some more followers. And I want to make it clear that I will never charge for ad space. See the thing is, I already have my own business, and I feel very strongly that I want to keep my blog as just…
I always feel like I jumped into this being an entrepreneur thing backwards. Because I started it up, then let it run, now I'm going to school to better my business. I guess it's kind of how I've done most things in my life, leap before I look!
Although, that's not always a bad thing, I learn quickly and there's no better training than…

Y'all come on in :)
Can you believe it's been a whole year? I can't. I can't even believe i've thought of anything to post about let alone anything someone other than me would find interesting or informative.
Well maybe y'all are just being polite! lol…

Running around after the kids making sure everything is packed and in between it all trying to capture pictures of them to put into our scrapbook.
Time seems to fly by. Sooner then later we will be all bundled up and inside trying to keep warm. So I am thankful that from the corner of my eye my attention was caught.
Long enough to make me remember the sweet sounds of my kids laughter as I sat outside our home watching them play or how we ran about on the…Continue

This weekend is exciting! And not because we are in the midst of the final countdown to VBS or because we are driving to Denver or because we are leaving behind Norah with family for her home gymnastic meet.
This weekend is exciting because one of my college roommates is getting married!! Yahoo!Continued ...

This past Monday, I posted a photo from our wedding. Two little love birds leaving the church amid bubble-blowing family and friends ... such a sweet memory! It has been fun this week to reminisce with the kids about our ceremony (after watching our video, Norah remarked that it was "too long...") and our reception (Mommy stuffed the cake first?!?) and a few snapshots of our honeymoon…Continue

When we left the grocery store today, we had a helper put the groceries in the back of the van while I wrangled the sniffly-nosed, over-done, past-exhaustion, screaming-in-my-ear two year old into her seat. This left Ashley with the opportunity to inform our helper that she is five and going to school soon. And that she can write her name.
As you can tell ... Ashley is over the moon with the promise of going to Kindergarten next year! We filled out her enrollment packet this the…

Last week, I highlighted the frosty, frozen tundra that was our backyard when we were growing up. It was vast. It was flat. And in the summer, it was (sorta) grassy. Imagine trying to water an acre of grass and mow it ... yeah, it was more like pasture-land than a yard.
But we still spent a lot of time there: following our ducks around (quack, quack, quack ...), running through the sprinklers (and trying to miss the really scratchy grass that would shred your…Continue

Katie at Sluiter Nation had asked if I could share one of my favourite childhood memories of school and the first one that came to mind was the day I, the 5 year old kindergarten Kimberly, became a trend setter.…
