A Mom Blog Social Network
During the month of May I have chosen to participate in the "May Is For All Women" project that Amanda @ Modern Hippie Momma is hosting during the month of May. The task is simple...to write posts once a week or as often as the mood strikes about women in your life who have helped to guide your lives and made you the parent or person that you have become, whether it be a quote or phrase, or…Continue

Mother’s Day is May 12th, that is a week from this Sunday. There are likely to be lots of articles to suggest ways to honor your mom or help your children honor their mom. I would like to take a different approach and speak to moms directly. Give yourself permission to pat yourself on the back and to take a break. Parenting is both the toughest and most rewarding job in the world. This is a good time to remind moms (fathers too) that you have to fill your own bucket before…Continue

Last week, I wrote about Why you deserve to be happy and questions to ask yourself if you’re not. So what happens if you decide you’re NOT happy in your current work situation and you want to change it? The very thought can be overwhelming to a lot of moms: we have children to…Continue

In talking with my clients and friends, it seems there’s one wish most of us have in common: to “have it all”. We want quality time with our kids, to be a real, caring, patient mother. We also want a career – not just a job, not just to help with the family finances, but something fulfilling – a purpose. If not our mothers, certainly our grandmothers were expected to feel that being a mother was purpose enough. And it is. But even my grandmothers worked outside the home when their…Continue

"Mom!! Mom!! Can I go out side? " "Mom!! Mom!! Can we go to the park?" "Mom!! Mom!! Can you play the Wii with me?" "Mom!! Mom!! Can I get a dog?" "MOM! MOM! MOM!" Oh my God! Can I change my name already? It is times like these that I wish that TJ's dad was around just so that I can get a break. Sometimes, as easy as I make it seem and although I "look" like I have it…Continue

It is very difficult for a mother to make a conscious decision about to cuddle or to let her baby cry it out (CIO) when she is sleep deprived.
I had never thought about this issue before having my daughter nor anyone came to me to talk about it. The only thing that I remember was everyone telling me how wonderful it was to have a baby and how my life would be filled with joy from that moment on. The truth is that no one tells you about painful breastfeeding or sleep…Continue
The Uk Government promised stay at home mums that when they decided to go back to work it would be easy, Family was priority, and 'working hours would be easier for working mothers'
How wrong they are!!!
My children are now both school age and I decided to go back to work, but its just one hurdle after another. Working hours being the main problem. Potential Bosses talk about being flexible, but what they mean is that you need to be flexible, they can do…Continue

It started a few days ago when I saw a picture of my grandfather. My mom and my aunt each used different photos of my grandfather as profile pictures on Facebook. After all, it was the week leading up to Father’s Day, and they loved him dearly.
One by one friends changed their profile pics, honoring their fathers, making an unspoken declaration: “My father was a good man.”
You see, if he was a bad man, you wouldn’t give up the coveted “profile pic” spot.…Continue
