A Mom Blog Social Network
Since Camryn was born she has been pretty laid back. Of course, she has her moments like any other baby but she's a good girl. There was a pattern that I noticed early on in her recovery which is when she gets really fussy for no apparent reason she gets new movement in her arm. I was never sure if it hurt her or if she could and can feel the nerves growing back or if it was that limb falling asleep sensation that everyone says she feels in her left arm. But the past couple weeks she was out…Continue

Let me start of by introducing myself. I am currently a stay at home mom, or as I prefer to call it the CEO of our household. I have 2 beautiful children, who I love dearly. I start with this, because after reading some of my rants you may need this reassurance. In fact, I find myself starting a lot of sentences with, “I love him or her so much…..but”!
I decided to start this blog in hopes that my rants will help alleviate some of the pressure all us moms face on a…

Yes, nap time in our house is becoming almost non existent. For a few weeks now, unless we have had a very busy morning, my daughter will no longer take naps. Instead she destroys her room and then it takes hours to clean it up. My ONE time of relaxing, getting caught up on my shows from the previous night are fading away.
So we are starting something new. Today. I am going to now go the route of letting her watch a movie,…

I have always been a bit socially awkward. Not weird, just unpolished. I often stick my foot in my mouth or I blurt out things without thinking. Basically I have no filter. Oh and I have a very strange laugh when I'm nervous.
Since losing an infant, this problem has grown worse. Now I make others feel awkward too. It is not intentional.
My conversations with a stranger now go like this:
"Nice to meet you. What do you do?"
Me: "I'm a…

Over the next few weeks, you may all think that I have gone completely "off the reservation" as the saying goes.
That's me folks. I think I'm driving the crazy train, losing my marbles, wigging out... every used up cliche you can think of. Muddled up.
Please don't "mute" me, I'm just working my way through things. And writing about them (very publicly) seems to be helping me get through it all. It's the best therapy I can think of right…Continue

Today my friend Jennifer shares the story of her journey with TTTS, of love, and loss. Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome has taken so much from so many people. But Jennifer continues to be amazingly positive, happy, and dedicated to her surviving twin. I hope you will read and share her story. Awareness saves lives!

I used to really like the band Korn.
Ok, I'm not gonna lie. I still really like the band Korn, but I just don't allow myself to listen to their music with little ears around. But lately, there has been this one line of one particular song that is not a nice line but keeps just running through my mind. Over and over I hear him monster screaming "My (BLEEP) is bigger than YOURS."
Now, some of you might find that a little disturbing.
Heck, I find it…

Since I've given birth exactly six months ago, I realized that the myth of mommy brain, is not just a myth. It's true. I forget stuff, forget where I'm going, sometimes I even forget what I just did! It's irksome and, frankly, it made me feel like I've lost brainpower- very discouraging. I really seriously feel like my brain is not functioning to its full (or former? *shudder*) capacity. So I did a little research on the scientific explanation of this unfortunate…Continue

When we were pregnant with the twins—okay, when my husband was gloating and I was miserable on bed rest—people kept giving us parenting advice.
Sleep now, you won’t sleep when they get here. (Obviously, THEY have never been on bed rest with not much else to do.)
Buy multiples of everything—clothes, bottles, blankets, pacifiers. After all, you are having two.
Shouldn’t you be eating for three?
Should you be eating that much?
Is that Pepsi healthy for…Continue
