Few people understand the importance of soil. In today’s American culture, most people get their food from a grocery store. Therefore society has lost an appreciation for what is involved in growing fruits, vegetables, and grains. This lack of knowledge on how things are grown is the primary reason why the average Joe does not understand what it means to grow food organically. And they certainly do not understand the role of soil in growing the food that they consume.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote that we were educating our family about where our stuff comes from, starting with our food.
We were learning that there are “strange” ingredients in many processed foods. Some of these ingredients you can learn about just by reading the labels and Googling what they are on the internet. Others you would not know about unless you ask someone.

With the school year coming to a close :) yay!! Parents can sometimes find a tad bit more free time to experiement with our kids diets. Today I blogged about trying to come up with sneaky ways to pack a nutritional punch each day with the kids. Need some feedback on your ideas to share with everyone please.
