What a big revelation I am having throughout the ups and downs of potty training my daughter. Today is day 4 being all dry (YAY! and Whew!!). What did it take to get to this point? Lots of patience, impatience, and downright prayer! We had a few things going on all around the same time, which brought on some adjusting and adapting. For starters we moved twice over the past year, and my daughter also changed preschools twice. Any grown up would stress over these changes, so why would I…Continue

Happy Friday! I’m SO glad it’s Friday because it has been a long week. But, at the same time, I still have lots to do before I can embrace the weekend and relax. Tomorrow is Keenan’s birthday party, so we are heading to my parents after he wakes up from his nap this afternoon, to get things set-up and start prepping some of the food. Keenan’s birthday menu includes: guacamole, salsa and chips for appetizers, grilled chicken, Artichoke Torta, grilled peach salad, fruit and bread (fresh…Continue

Some of you might remember my Poo-Poo Basket post, which was my first foray into potty training. The poo-poo basket and a sticker chart worked with my oldest when it came to potty training. I was hoping that it would work with the youngest. No such luck. Seriously, this kid is stubborn! I tried the sticker chart,…Continue

The Church NextStep Toilet Seat is available at your local big box hardware store or online through Amazon and the like and runs about $35. It's great because the potty chair for the kids is a magnetized insert into the lid of the toilet. It comes in both…Continue

I want to potty train my son about as much as I want to be reapeatedly kicked in the face by someone wearing steel toed boots.
It's not that I mind him using the toilet...I'm not trying to keep him little or anything...it's that I don't want to have to be the one to go through the process with him.
I just can't figure out how to sell this idea.
So, imagine you're two and you're playing with some awesome, totally cool toy. And instead of doing your stuff right…
Let me introduce you to Operation: I did it! This is what we are calling potty training in our house these days. Though this process I have found that I have the most strong willed, defiant daughter ever. Granted I have not potty trained a child before and perhaps my expectations were too high, I had envisioned a
beautiful clean bathroom with a perfect…

One of my fellow mommy friend’s Facebook status reads:
Me: You don’t spit your juice into other people’s drinks.
Son (3): You’re not people, you’re my mom.
I almost spit out my morning coffee when I read this. I was watching Sweet Pea happily eating whatever little bites of things I put on her high chair tray, Bugaboo jumping quietly (in hopes I won’t tell him to stop) on the couch watching Max and Ruby and Sugar Plum sitting at the kitchen table, reading her book…Continue
