It all started with a runny nose, but Gabriella didn’t seem too bothered by it. By day 3 both of us were snotty, coughing, sneezing, tired, headachy and overall just feeling horrible. But, since she was keeping hydrated and not running a temperature, I decided not to call the doctor… a cold just has to run its’ course, right? Instead, I called my acupuncturist, Cecil, who made an appointment to see us the next…

I recently had the opportunity to review Premama, Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix. I wish this had have been available when I was pregnant...
When I was pregnant with little man, I had the worst morning sickness ever. It wasn't actually just morning sickness either, it was morning, noon and night sickness. Everyone promised me that it would go away after my first trimester... It didn't. I would wake up in the…

Everything takes time, whether we want it to or not. There was an article that popped up during some of my reading on the internet in the past month that said for anything to really be cemented into your routine, you need to do it for two weeks. Well, we're on week one and we might be getting into the swing of things.
Our biggest concern for moving was that we wouldn't…Continue

Since I've given birth exactly six months ago, I realized that the myth of mommy brain, is not just a myth. It's true. I forget stuff, forget where I'm going, sometimes I even forget what I just did! It's irksome and, frankly, it made me feel like I've lost brainpower- very discouraging. I really seriously feel like my brain is not functioning to its full (or former? *shudder*) capacity. So I did a little research on the scientific explanation of this unfortunate…Continue
“I hate how I look, I hate how I feel...I really just don’t like me right now” I sob to the hubby. With a look of slight annoyance he reminds me yet again “YOU ARE…

Is it really Friday again? This week has flown by, but don't they all? It has kind of been a blur for me. I'm not sure if that's because the weather has been so hot, I'm 7mo preggo, or just because I've been so busy. I'm sure you've been busy too! Enjoy your weekend, put your feet up, make some lemonade, and catch up on good book.....or laundry, whichever.…Continue

You’re getting close. The baby is due in a week or two or three. You can barely breathe, move or sleep. You’ve picked out the crib, the stroller, the Top 5 names. Is there anything left to do???
Here are the top 9 things you should do before that baby comes:
1) Get waxed. Wax your legs and, if you’re up to it, your bikini area. Trust me, you don’t want to think about hairy legs for the first few weeks of your child’s life. No matter how that baby comes out, bending over to…Continue

Pregnancy is such a miraculous event. You watch your body go through many changes and at the end of it all, you receive the gift of an innocent new being. However, also at the end of the pregnancy, you notice that your weight has escalated at least 30 pounds. Now it is time to get to…Continue

With less than 90 days to go, I have entered into the third trimester and therefore have begun the home stretch. To say this pregnancy has gone by fast would be an understatement, and I am hoping that time continues to move this fast for the next three months. I am SO tired of being pregnant, and am…Continue

Eight years ago, we bought our first house, and moved from Michigan to North Carolina. The day the moving truck arrived with our things; it was so sunny and warm the movers wore tank tops. But the ground showed evidence that winter was indeed here. I felt sidelined and out of place directing the men where to take boxes. Eventually I took paper and labeled all of the doorways upstairs: master & master bath, boy’s room, spare room, baby’s room.
I was 13…

Well, no baby yet... I'm officially one day overdue.
New Year's was as exciting as it could be... being 9 months pregnant with a regular bed time of 9:00 pm. I took an afternoon nap so I could watch the ball drop.
Is it just me, or does the ball drop become less exciting each year? 365 days seem to warp my memory. By the time January 1st comes around again, I have this…Continue
