Do you remember playing Ring Around the Rosie as a child? I do! I remember playing this game when I was fairly young. When my son came home from daycare a few days ago saying “posies, posies” while grabbing his older brother’s hand. I was trying to figure out what he was talking about. My son would grab…Continue

When I was little, I remember laying on the ground and staring up at the clouds. I lived in Kansas and was 4 or 5 at the time. I used to love laying on the ground in our front yard staring up at the incredibly blue Kansas sky. I would make up stories about the clouds I saw, turning them into magical flowers, a woman in a fancy dress or a simple smiley face.
I remember staring up at the sky one day and deciding that I would remember ever detail of my life. I was frustrated because…Continue

Death to most of us is really painful. I say condolence and feel sad whenever someone I know dies. But the feeling I felt honestly was superficial. I know that now. When Mama died, the pain was unfathomable. Now I am in their shoes. Now I know how it really feels to lose someone dear to you. As I give the previous days some reflection, I have learned two very precious points. At this very moment, I am giving these 2 points importance and priority.
My kids create so many drawings and some have been just wonderful (Pre-school has told them that if they don’t put their names on their art it gets put in the recycling, they I have been told are prolific at the quantity they create). It is great to see the girl’s drawings looking like people and actual things that they are saying they have drawn.
For Father’s Day this year I thought why not frame some of the girl’s drawings. I did ask them to draw daddy and they were good enough to…Continue

This has been a wonderful Saturday for us. It really wasn't anything extra wonderful that we did per say, but it was the fact that we were together. After having the boys in school, being able to have our family together was extremely nice. Maybe, I'm harping on it because I'm soon going to be working again (just have to work out the final details, and I'm going to be a working Mom again.)
However, I treasure my time with my family. I've been spoiled at being able to be with them 24/7…Continue

As I sit here dipping way too many kettle cooked potato chips into some leftover onion dip from our Father’s Day BBQ, I’m reminded yet again that it’s really the simple pleasures that bring you happiness. Sure, this feeling of contentment is most likely fleeting (and will probably only last as long as I’m shoving chips into my mouth), but if I can wholeheartedly appreciate the moment, I know it’ll last longer. Right now I’m savoring the creamy texture and salty flavors that are bursting on…Continue

What was that sound?! Did the room just shake? Not quite - it was just your baby's derriere.
One thing I was not expecting as a new mom was explosive baby poop. Two weeks after my daughter's birth my husband…Continue
