Of course, if you forget anything you have the luxury of going back home and grabbing items that you forgot (including items that your wife or significant other might have forgotten). The laboring…Continue

Because I am the youngest of eight, my parents and siblings have referred to me as the baby ever since I can remember.
I have ten kids. I have changed thousands of diapers, spent over a hundred hours in labor and been pregnant for approximately seven years of my life. But no matter what I do, to them I will always be the baby. I have never understood it. Until Hope came along.
It could be because I had her when I was closer to 50 than 40. Or maybe it's…Continue

I am excited to share with you my journey to lose the baby weight. I call it Fat Lady Loses 50. You may wonder why I choose to call myself fat, and that would be a very good question. You see, when I was a teenager it was not uncommon for the kids to make fun of me, even my own family used the term loosely. It hurt a lot back then in fact, I defined myself completely through the fat lens.
Looking back on photos I realize now that I wasn't really all that fat. I may have been…Continue

There has been a lot of controversy about a young girl posing with her baby boy in a class photo. The school allowed other students to pose with pets, sporting equipment and so on to give a better idea of who the student is. Caitlin Tiller decided if others can bring in pets that they…Continue

the next day, Monday, he says he will come over that night. When I call him after work and he says he will leave in a couple of hours to head toward my place. As the time passes, I text him to find out when he will be over....and he never arrives. The next day comes, and he says he misses me and wants to see me, so he is definitely coming over. He never does.
Every day, for the next week, he tells me he will come over, and as the days pass, I never see him. Even though we talk and…Continue

I was reading a post this morning by a fellow blogger who was talking about how much she really hates her first name. At first, I couldn't understand the depth by which she hates her name. To me, her name sounds very worldly and exotic. But the more I think about it, the more I get it now. Your first name is very personal and it's something you carry around with you for a long time. And the kicker is that you don't have any…Continue

I remember the day that I went into labor with my daughter, we were out celebrating my mother’s birthday and just as I was getting ready to crawl into bed. I heard a pop and knew instantly that my water had broke. Of course, I should have known better but I immediately ran to the bathroom and sat on the toilet. I know, I know, that I probably shouldn’t have sat on the toilet since I didn’t know how far into labor that I was. However, my immediate reaction to the situation was to…Continue

Do you remember this?
Airplane food. We used to love to hate it.
These meals are a distant memory (thankfully)... at least in economy class, where Mama’s family sits. And, unless you’re lucky enough to be traveling through…Continue
