February 5th marked eight years since the Marine and I tied the knot. Of those eight years, we were together to celebrate our anniversary only twice. Including this year. Being married to a Marine makes for some lonely holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries, but you know what else it does? It makes you appreciate those rare moments you're actually together.…

Maybe you’re tired of Pinterest loading slowly, or maybe your machine has finally succumbed to the abuse of life in a home with two young kids and a cat that always needs to be warmed. Either way, you want a new laptop.
Purchasing a new laptop isn’t as big of a deal these days as it used to be. Machines have gotten both faster and exponentially cheaper. Unlike the antiquated $1,500… Continue

This week’s Thankful Thursday is based on Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop prompt: 10 reasons you should be glad I didn’t blog in my 20′s.
In other words, I’m giving you 10 reasons you should be thankful that I entered the blogging world in my mid-30′s and not a decade earlier.
For starters I didn’t even know how to turn on a computer when I was 18. Seriously, I kid you not. Can you imagine the technical issues I’d have trying to write a… Continue

A Country Girl Knows How To Get Stuck
Growing up country, :) we know how to get stuck. We did it a lot, especially when the winter months would come and it would never stop raining.
We still had to go and get fish out of the ponds whether it was muddy or not. The pond dams would be slick as glass and sometimes it was fun and other times it wasn't.
I remember one night my dad and I had to go and check the oxygen in the ponds, it had rained for… Continue

Like so many others, I've been trying to break into the world of blogging.
And like so many of those before me, I've been having my butt handed back to me, after it's been severely kicked.
It's been more years than I care to reveal, in which I've been trying to make a meaningful impact in the blogging universe. Need I say, that I've been met by a great resistance?
I've called it quit several times, but after a short hiatus I find myself back at it… Continue

While reviewing my blog archives for a project I’m working on, I noticed that my first blog entry was dated January 16. That’s one year ago today!
I know this factoid doesn’t mean much to anyone. I didn’t think it would mean much to me either. It was not a milestone I was tracking—it was a milestone I stubbled upon. But I’m so glad I did because it illustrated that progress isn’t measured by how far we have… Continue

Wow! It has been far too long since I last posted up here at Bloggy Moms.
It makes me a little sad to think about it actually.
I've been on quite a journey over the past year, including finally accepting and growing accustomed to the ins and outs of having both Lupus and Psoriatic arthritis, letting go of a business that I finally realized I had no passion for, and starting a new business with my husband that we both love. AND the really fun part about our new business… Continue

This post was originally published on my blog, Mom on the Make, on December 4th, 2012.
Blogging takes the mundane happenings of every day life, and makes them special.
It is through sharing our stories and photos that the beauty of our lives shine. Before my blog, I was not clear on the significance of journaling and writing in our daily quest to stay sane as Moms.
Now, it is crystal clear.
The truth is, as Moms, we are crafty, resourceful, … Continue

A New Beginning...
At the stroke of midnight, fireworks signaled the arrival of another year. The gloomy sky now looked all cheered up with breathtaking lights and sound of joy. 2013 is finally here. I smiled with adoration as I watched my son trying to grab the little something I prepared for both of us. Together, we embraced the new chapter of our… Continue

I have been trying to come up with a good idea for my Monday posts since I concluded “My Journey with Tiara,” and Tabitha finally came up with a great idea for me on Friday night. “How about Memorable Monday’s Mom? “Love it!” Memorable Monday’s will mostly be funny memories from my life, of course some may be sad, but mostly they will make you laugh on Monday mornings, which we all need! So here we go…… Continue

It isn't often I get to enjoy the quiet calm of morning. The Munchkin is a big fan of waking up before the sun, and since even as a morning person, I believe in waking up WITH the sun--NEVER before it-- the early morning quiet is a thing of rare beauty for me. This morning the Munchkin woke up at 0530, but miracle or miracles, she fell back to sleep, and I've been able to enjoy a few solitary moments of quiet before the rush of the day begins. I know it is short lived, because I can hear her… Continue
