This weekend I went to PrideFest 2013 and saw one of the women there selling jewelry. Really different pieces, including earrings made out of guitar picks. Not what I'm accustomed to buying, but that's what caught my attention.
There were also rings with…Continue

Here is yet another list of whacky things I've learned lately. Included this time is the realization that the world would be a happier place if everyone ate Thanksgiving dinner in their pajamas. Click over to my blog for the full list:…Continue

It's taken me almost a full week to recover from all that is Halloween (and work events, and emails, and voicemails...). But prepare to be photobombed real quick here in a few. I don't normally entertain with lots of photos of my family and kids- or at least not too many for various reasons. I worked really hard on the Bowser costume, and then celebrated at how easy a mini-Princess Peach costume worked out. Because I was so super duper behind on my costume-diy-timeline, both my and Jay's…Continue

Here's another whack-a-doozle list of things I've discovered throughout the past week. Included this time is the realization that you can't help but feel sorry for the poor dude who lets a fart slip out in the middle of your yoga class (especially when you're lucky enough not to be in the…Continue

What-to-wear is an everyday challenge. We worry about being dressed appropriately for the weather, being comfortable all day long, and wondering if anyone will notice you've worn the same thing twice in one week.
Halloween is a different challenge. We get to be whoever or whatever we want to be. It's a day of make believe for children and adults!
I was inspired by the many families I saw coordinating costumes last year and wanted to participate. My son is too young to tell me…Continue

Only 10 days until Halloween!
We haven't decorated much around the house, because of the unfortunate scheduling conflict of Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year. We're looking into leafy wreaths made with some leaves gathered from our friend's yard (b/c we, sadly, have no trees on our yard!- oh the horror). I say unfortunate, not because we need to be street wandering and begging for candy late, but its just less pre-planning going on once Monday hits. But we do have a…Continue

So, my 2 1/2 year old girl finally decided she wanted to be Minnie Mouse for halloween. But, it couldn't just be any Minnie Mouse Costume, she wanted it to be a tutu dress! After much searching online to find the perfect dress, I decided to make my own! It was pretty easy, really didn't take too much time, and was a great accomplishment! Can't…

It's an update of sorts, both food/kid related, and kid/Halloween related. Either way, I guess I'm covering an update for each kid so it's all good! Except I'll apologize now (again, and again) for my shoddy sewing (couldn't sew a straight line even with the fanciest Project Runway machine), and my up-close pics!
We have a Halloween countdown going on, in the form of figuring how much work I…Continue

Hallow's Eve, Halloween, scary, spooky, candy, party time! It's the most exciting non-holiday at our house! And we're counting down now, with exactly 30 days (it's on a school day this year, how brilliant for all of us, because we don't party less- we just save some for the weekend) left to complete as much as we can. And there's tons to do. To make, to craft, and create.
Halloween is family/group effort at our house. We all dress up. We have as much fun as the kids, if not more…Continue

You know, I don’t think I am an unreasonable person. Every year, on Halloween, I get the kids into costume, including makeup, and I take these hellions on the tour of the neighborhood. Last night was no exception. Even though I am 200 months pregnant, I took these hellions to every house within a 30 mile radius. True story. When we got home, they dumped their stashes out on the living room floor to take inventory and trade with their friends. I simply told them, in my nicest mommy…Continue
