My eleven year old middle school daughter and I were having a conversation the other day about games and one game in particular became the topic of discussion. A party game we all know as Truth or Dare.

My daughter:  Um, I've also played this game called Truth or Dare.

Me: Uh huh. Where, why and with whom?

My daughter:  Just with friends, you know, sleepovers Mom.

Me:  Uh huh.  Oh…

So I'm starting off the year with a pretty hefty worry, and it's one I've had before.



There is nothing like creating life or being solely responsible for the life of another human being.

What I Want New Mothers To Know

I’m not even a new mother yet! I’m not quite sure how I could answer this one.

I guess I could say that I want new mothers to know that there is no possible way you can know everything. Research, read, ask questions, but know that when you have that baby in your arms and it grows you could easily get to a situation that was never covered in the books. Or the books just don’t have the right…

I'm a planner. I make lists.
